With apologies to those who may have already seen this it looks as if Bony is going to be out for some time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25146833 Damage limitation / park the bus until then or do we try and play our normal game?
Play our normal game - every time we park the bus or play overly cautiously we end up paying for it. Vasquez played well last night, give him a run in the team.
I tend to agree CJ. Vasquez was busy - he scored (wrongly disallowed) and had a shot cleared off the line after a very good takedown on his chest. Looks like he's our only option up front and maybe my earlier assessment of him as just another Schechter was wrong. Hope so.
we will just have to hope and pray that we play out of our skins and city have a bad day, It was stupid to play bony in the first place with our only other goal scorer out injured...now we must pay the penalty and hope for the best...
If Bony wasn't injured then I doubt you'd be saying that Dai. We needed a result last night and he's streets ahead of anyone else up front. Hindight and all that. If we'd have gone ahead I think Laudrup would have taken him off 2nd half.
Totally agree. With the pressure off I'm sure Bony would have been benched ready for Sunday. What was always a difficult game will now be almost impossible. Vasquez will start and he did show some promise. Maybe a run of games will raise his confidence and he'll start to play. He obviously has talent and games will help him. Much the same can be said of Lamah. He's starting to find a bit of form. I'd just like to see him take on his man more, run the full back and try and get in behind him. Lately we've seen the odd flash off what he can do when he gets involved. More of that would be just the ticket instead of just tamely laying the ball off whenever he gets it. The bonus is that he could pressure Routledge and Dyer into playing better if they see him as a threat to their place. As for the next game, I can only see a loss. If we scrape a draw I'll be ecstatic.
I asked you to name your 2 teams beforehand and tell us who you wanted to see rested for Sunday. You didn't respond and now you're claiming to be mystic meg...same old same old
Bony should not have played while michu is injured in a game we could have played without him when we have a much more important game against city a few days later. Its basic management skills and laudrup don't have much of that and now we pay the price...end of story...make all the excuses you want he has made a mistake to add to the countless mistakes he has already made this season...roll on when he goes and we get back to being a confident side again..
I have been saying for the past week that Bony should not play and the reason why. it was stupid and showed lack of management skills..
Over the last few seasons we've been lucky with very few injuries. Quite the opposite this year. Adding in the points we've been robbed due to poor officialdom then reaching the last 32 of Europa and a mid-table league position would be a great achievement.
One day your wish will come true then we'll be able to what either G Monk or Trundle can do .F**K me it's getting tedious now .
So if one striker is injured we must rest the other to stop them getting injured? That makes nonsense Dai.
Dai we are going to get flogged by Man City so ML was right in playing Bony v Valencia where we needed a win, he got injured, big deal. main point is as I and other posters have said why did we not buy another striker?
Yes, it was the most ludicrous comment of the century By the way, I've worked out what Wilfried's favourite song is.....it's (E)bony and Ivory (coast).
