Can't say I'm surprised. I don't think this will do much in real terms, other than to let us say we're doing our bit against those bastards. But I don't think it's "war" like Corbyn and his fan club are saying. We're already bombing them in Iraq and we can be engaged in a close support role without overdoing things. I'm against putting more troops in harm's way, but this doesn't seem too much of a stretch TBH...

I think it is the correct decision, although I have went through a lot of heart searching to come to this conclusion. The alternative is to leave millions of people at the mercy of a merciless well equipped fanatical army.

Like you have stated, it won't make much difference to the war going on over there, we have been bombing Iraq for ages and the war is still raging there too.

It is something we simply have to do as our duty and it keeps us on the 'top table'. Also you never know when we might need these allies ourselves, if, god forbid, bombs started dropping here...

I don't see how this helps at all if I'm honest. Innocents will inevitably get caught up in this and in the long run it will probably create more terrorists than it kills. I have no idea what the solution is, which is the scary part. But this isn't it imo.

While i agree 100% with this move my gripe is why now?

This should have happened long before and its took Paris to happen before they grew some balls.

There was no chance of the Argentinians bombing the UK.

<laugh>. Or at least ask if we could borrow some of their gear.

A few dozen ships. Maybe an aircraft carrier and some planes.

We.ll be careful with them. Honest.

Definitely some planes! It was on the news yesterday that the RAF had 823 planes during the first gulf war. We are now down to 84 and a lot of them are out of service <doh>

Not as hypocritical as your inference suggests mate, Russia's bombing campaign is completely Pro-Assad, meaning they're looking over several other terrorist organisations and also turning a blind eye to the regime in place in Syria, who have used chemical weapons on civilians.

Our campaign, will be to target terrorist cells, full stop.

I guarantee you, we won't be going along on the same directive as the Russians, there's gonna be more to this than fighting terrorists, I have no doubt in my mind.
