Now I wonder if their extended stay in the premier league paying extortionate players salaries with attendances barely higher than ours has lead to their current plight?..... Could our relegation have actually been better for us than trying to compleat with the big boys on 15000 crowds?

Whilst I have every sympathy with their fans, there's a certai sense of karma in their situation with regards to their chairman, Phil Gartside, who tried to make the premier league a closed knowing full well that his team were heading down.

Also, I can't stand Neil Lennon...

Surely if it's going tits up for them we should be taking Clough off their hands, sorry Bolton fans I do feel for you lot, could and might well be us in the future!

Is it a ginger thing?

Haha, no gingerism here - when he was manager of Celtic up here, he was constantly on the tv moaning about every decision, like there was a conspiracy against him - ****, even I could've managed Celtic and won the treble, yet they all made him out be be the best manager in years!

Clubs like Bolton and others should never be in this position. The money should be shared equally.
Blame SKY and Premiership for a lot of these troubled clubs.
Sky only want an elite set of clubs playing in some plastic Euro league and are not interested in anyone else.
SKY are greedy @@@@'s. The radio and other media only care about the premiership and clubs will sell their soul to be there. In a few years don't be surprised if many clubs go bust get demoted or become part time.

We are all victims of our own ambition and greed. We all took the $ky cash when it was on offer and Bolton are no different. Can't swim with the fishes and complain when the sharks take a bite out of you.

I have read that the financial awards in the Premiership are greater and spread more equally than any other league in Europe, and the parachute payments for relegated Clubs look good. Not sure I follow your argument here.

I don't think we should gloat over one of the most famous English sides being in the ****e. Rather weep at people like Adebayor taking £225,000 a week sitting on his 'arris

This entirely. Gartside showed no thought of other ambitious smaller clubs when he proposed the 'closed shop', now he's got his just desserts. If they do go tits-up the fans will start another Bolton in their place so I don't have any sympathy, just as they wouldn't if it happens to us...

How much have Bolton and others (like us) got from Sky and the PL? Comfortably enough to build a sustainable club I'd guess. Not anyone's fault but the club's if they spunk that revenue on players and wages rather than making the business profitable.

Burnley, for example, invested a healthy chunk of their Sky money in the training ground.
