    Macron Stadium - KO: 15:00

Firstly, apologies for the stripped down thread - this new forum format is quite limiting and I'm still plotting a way to bring back the visual richness of the old threads.

After a break from the league for the FA Cup last weekend, Leeds are crossing the Pennines to visit Neil Lennons Bolton team, who are enjoying a good run with only one loss in their last 5 games. On the other hand, Leeds haven't registered a win in their last 5 games in the league. Neil Redfearn needs to find the formula that is going to arrest this slump, with Leeds fans nervous that the usual post-christmas slump will send the Whites into a real relegation scrap.

Historically there is nothing to chose between these two. Both sides have taken all 3 points on 21 occasions in the league, though Leeds have just edged the recent meetings. Last time out Leeds won in front of their own fans, completing the double over Bolton for last season.

    Team News

Bolton could look to youngster Zach Clough to lead the line with the likes of Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen on the bench. Max Clayton is definitely out, and with a string of doubts (Mark Davies, Craig Davies, Joe Mason, Kevin McNaughton) Neil Lennon finds his choices somewhat limited.

Neil Redfearn doesn't have such injury worries, though he will be desperate to find some sort of winning formula. Several changes could be made to last week's FA Cup side, with the likes of Sam Byram coming back in. Luke Murphy will hope that he made some sort of impression to compete for a starting berth in midfield.

    Match Facts

The bookies see no coming in these sides recent runs, predicting a comfortable Bolton win at 21/20.

    • Bolton have won 5 of their last 6 home matches in Championship.
    • There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Leeds's last 4games in Championship.
    • Leeds have failed to win their last 8 away matches in Championship.

    The Damned Prediction

    2-1 Bolton Win

Bolton are in good form since Neil Lennon took over, and you know Heskey is going to bag the winner...

I've reverted to a similar lineup that I've been suggesting a lot recently. We seem to be sticking with the diamond, which basically picks the midfield for its self if you go on form/potential. Bellusci and Cooper remain my CB pairing of choice, though I still worry about Bellusci. Byram back in at RB and Sharp upfront to partner Antenucci as Doukara just isn't doing enough.

I know there will be others calling for a look at Montenegro, Del Fabro here, but if they aren't impressing in training I don't think they are the players to get us out of this slump.

    Have Your Say

Will we finally pick up 3 points, or is this going to be another disappointing away day?

Is patience running out with Redfearn?

    Great thread still <ok>

Bolton a comfortable win putting pressure on us in our next home game which is a midweek one against Birmingham and anything but three points from that and I believe defeat to Bournemouth the following weekend will be Redfearns last game in charge .

    Cheers ristac <ok>

I think you're right about Redfearns prospects. Out of the next 3, Birmingham is definitely our best chance of getting 3 points so that game is looking pretty crucial for him.

Well done on a spot on thread but I disagree re Birmingham. I watched their first half away to forest and they were a hell of a lot better than us even if their first goal was a fluke

Ristac either you are posting bollocks or I am wrong and that never happens. Birmingham is next Saturday and Bournemouth the following midweek. I think you might have caught senility of someone.

    Brilliant thread.

I will pm Mick. He has given Penshaw Dave special powers to do tables etc. I'm sure he'll do the same for you.

My mistake <ok> So Redfearn sacked after Birmingham or Bournemouth? Might explain the delay in new players arriving

Speaking of PenshawDave, he's just launching a new round of his excellent Tipster game. Just pick the winner in 15 fixtures to enter. If you are disillusioned with the score predictions on the Match Day Thread, give that a shot for a change. Just heading over there to register my entry <ok>

Heskey certainly is a huge unit, can hold the ball up well and is powerful. He could have done a job for us.

Just watching Soccer AM and we're screwed today. Heskey and Gudjohnson bound to score against us so we'll need to score three and can anyone see that happening. Please Redders no diamond.

Yeah I'm pretty sure a half cut Elland could do a better job than any of those <ok>

I'd be amazed and happy if there wasn't a diamond, but we all know its incredibly likely!

Yeah I agree mate think we will have the diamond even though it clearly isn't working for us and all the other teams can just wipe the floor with us when we use it. No surprises for the opposition.

Bolton 3-0 Leeds ... we are just too soft for this division, and for all the talent the young uns possess they don't seem to be able to fight for 90 mins ... Ipswich have a huge set of players, typical McCarthy, but look how they brushed us aside ... the Championship has never been about tippy tappy, even the "footballing" sides get stuck in when they need to ... we could be in all sorts of trouble by the end of Jan unless the players start to step up for 90 mins every game ... Lennon's team will be nasty and hard today, and I fear our lot may end up hiding and that will be disastrous ... going to be a long afternoon if our recent performances are anything to go by

Morning all. A decent thread as ever. Could be a difficult game for us. But I'd like to see Sharp start with Antennucci. I'd also like to see Bianchi dropped and replaced by either Austin or Murphy. Flat 3 in mifield, with Adryan behind a front two.

Leeds to get their fingers out get home 2-1
