The heroes will be the fans who make the journey up north to watch relegation being confirmed against the only side worse than us. Poyet should be made to play as punishment for his outburst to the media. And Roland should be forced to attend, preferably in the middle of the away fans.
Who remembers the last day of the season when we were last relegated? It actually turned out to be quite a fun day, with Norwich heading down with us - both sets of fans chanted ''stand up if you're going down or large periods''. The fact we put in a decent performance that day probably helped too. I know tomorrow is possible for us to go down - but is it the likely scenario? I haven't done my math yet, so would be happy if someone could help me out whilst in this lazy/lethargic mood.
So we need a win, otherwise we are down. I'd usually feel confident when coming up against a 38 year old Heskey, but he's already scored against us this season.
Without a doubt and after last weeks showing CARD really have to step it up on Saturday . The Burnley game has to be the mother of all protests chaos has to reign at the valley
Didn't even bother following this one tonight. According to the Daily Mail, the players didn't even bother saluting the 200 fans who paid good money to go. Meire has issued a silly statement on the OS, and says the regime have learnt from their mistakes. That will be the epitaph for this bunch.
A must win game against already relegated opponents....and we manage 2 shots on target A lot of fans on Twitter last night were saying that this team was too good to go down, but I don't concur. The owner had the money to keep us up, but refused to spend it. That is why this was an avoidable relegation. The players he bought for us were never good enough, and he compounded the error yet again in January with tat like Johnson and Rhys Williams. The managers he hires are not good enough either - Fraeye got 10 points from his 13 games, Luzon was a buffoon, and Riga is now on a hat trick after successive relations with Blackpool and Charlton. Lets hope he manages Palace next season. The Club is now a sorry shambles from top to bottom. We really are back in the Selhurst-era days, with distrusted owners, small crowds and a threadbare team. Only this time there is no Lennie in his prime, and I don't see many Peter Shirtliffs or Steve Gritts in our team, either. The fans must share part of the culpability, too. Meire's fatuous "I am staying" statement last night proves beyond doubt that CARD's Enid Blyton jolly japes have had precisely the effect that some of us have predicted - none. Depressing.
When these card protest stuff started I remember Rick Everett saying on BBC London that Roland will be gone within a week ....erm....yeah
He was confident that they could "make the club unmanageable". The problem is that if Roland sits in his Belgian office and just says "I'm not selling whatever those customers do" then what can you do? You can't go and protest any more unless CARD say so, all that is left is to withdraw your custom totally. If the majority of S/T holders renew then Roland and his gang will laugh off the protests as being unrepresentative, so we have to hope that enough customers don't renew.
Somebody in the Charlton ticket office told me we had still not sold 1,000 STS two weeks ago, a figure than Comrade Rick was quick to shat over on Twitter because he didn't know first Rick is part of the problem, i have more respect for all of the unsung heroes on here who either stick to their principles and boycott, or protest before it became fashionable,
Reading Riga's comments after bthe game, he's not confident that he'll be here next season, or that he's the right man for the job even. Meire's statement about making mistakes and learning for them reads like Richard Murray's usual line. It comes over as a statement to potential buyers that "If you want to get me out it'll be feet first"
Olly Groome wrote it, and no doubt Meire signed it off from her sun bed last week. Riga's record since coming back is average at best, but he knows the price of the ticket every time RD hires him. The fact is that we are f*cked until this lot leave.
