Bolton are set to sign Cardiff striker Adam Le Fondre on loan next week. Le Fondre, 28, signed for the Bluebirds last summer after three years at Reading but has scored just three league goals for Cardiff. He is expected to join up with Wanderers next week, but will not be available to face Rotherham on Tuesday. The striker will also not be available to play in the FA Cup replay against Liverpool. Le Fondre has scored over 150 league goals in his career and played in the Premier League for Reading. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30970848
Maybe this is noddys way of getting out of the relegation battle, off load the underachievers to teams below us. Bet he stsrts scoring when he gets to Bolton. Slade out.
Good morning Bluebirds...long time no speak, but I often pop up to your forum for a look at whats going on. Sorry to hijack the thread, but what exactly IS going on? A few months back Slade came in and you all (well ok, mostly all) seemed fairly up-beat after a few decent results and you were within reach of a play off spot. Now I read about some of your top players being loaned out (ALF can surely do a job for you?...many teams can only dream of such a striker!) and now fans talking of bottom 6 and another change of manager? With the ,correct imo, u-turn in Tans shirt color idea, I really thought the Bluebirds would be on the up again, especially with the so called parachute payments to help out. What do you guys see happening for the rest of the season?.......surely your squad is too good to even consider relegation? And what of Mr Tan?....I was having a chat in my local the other night and a few of the Bluebirds there think it will be toys out of the cot time and he will walk away? Good luck either way guys, as you know, I am not one to wind people up and p155 you off (too old for that!), just interested to find out the fans take on things. CCR
Hi Caldicot. No team or squad is too good to go down pal. I reckon we'll do well to be playing you lot in the Champ next season. There is no doubt that Tan and his henchmen are capitalising on the player assets at the club at the moment, but it appears to be more a way of drastically reducing the wage commitment rather than getting actual cash in the bin. It can't be helping on the playing front but it's far from the prime cause of our recent demise. The absolute truth is that the on the pitch issues are down to Slade in the main and his abject tactical nous. He is just abysmal. I'm sure others will expand on that more. Anyway, good to hear from you and welcome back to the Championship - I just hope we're still here to greet you.
Hi Sparks...hope all is well with you mate Please don't welcome us back to the Championship just yet...this IS football and we all know what can happen with our eggs and chickens ect! Is a change of manager the answer though?....is the football THAT bad?....what ever happened to stability and given someone a chance eh?...its the modern game I guess, it has to be overnight and instant or not at all. I am sure you will pull through though but it must be so bloody frustrating for you at the moment.
Hi CCH, thought of you whilst watching your game yesterday. You were so close to a lucrative replay at West Ham. Smith and JET upfront are a handful for any defence when given the service. As to your question, "sorry to hijack the thread, but what exactly IS going on?" I was hoping you could tell us with your objective view from a distance. I hope we stay up but that is far from certain. If we do I look forward to the Severn Bridge derbies again next season.
No it's worse than that - it's mind numbing crap. Can't blame Slade for the off field stuff, but he gets it 100% wrong on the pitch with his team selection, system, tactics and substitutions. He has destroyed the playing credibiltiy right in front of the fans and appears to be stuck in a time warp - something around the Jurassic era we think........ Is there anything good about him I hear you ask? Well he's pretty good at blagging the media and that's about it.
Hi Blue.....hope your well mate!....Yes I was very pleased with the game yesterday, we gave a good account of ourselves against a very strong Prem team. The difference being a 15 million pond striker! I watched a few of Slades interviews on the local news and the guy just oozes confidence and is always so upbeat its hard to believe some of the comments on here re the play on the pitch. The last manager we got rid of was the complete opposite....a miserable SOD (see what I did there!) both on and off the pitch! Just under half a season to go so plenty of time yet guys
CCH I wish we could share your optimism. We are suffering the drivel turned out every week and there is absolutely nothing to give us any confidence. It would make a refreshing change for us to have over 50% possession - even if we lost. Yes, things are that bad. It is pretty clear that while Slade gives a good interview, his team motivational skills are zero - as are his tactical ones. It is also evident he has been told to get rid of most of the high wage earners. It is likely Marshall would have gone to Everton were it not for a previous groin injury which was kept quiet as much as possible. He has brought in 3 average Championship players who know the division and may bring some stability but we are crying out for a midfield general with some pace, commitment and bite ( a little skill would help too). We are so slow and ponderous there, it is embarrassing being over run and out fought every week.
ALF wasnt cutting it for us and I can bet my house that he won't be able to stop scoring for Bolton. If that is the case, it makes you wonder why. We will see.
It's official. On the positive side it means Slade might stop playing 4-4-2. http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/article/le-fondre-makes-bolton-loan-switch-2228082.aspx
