View attachment 22399 vs View attachment 22400 Bolton Wanderers come to town on Saturday the 30th and after last Saturdays disappointing result against Millwall we really could do with a morale boosting win this coming weekend. Bolton also lost last weekend and they went down to a late Carlos Edwards goal away to Ipswich Town. When we played Bolton at the Reebok earlier in the season David N'Gog a second half substitute was the game changer as 11 minutes after his introduction he scored the opener and then just 6 minutes later doubled Boltons lead making sure they would take all 3 points in a 2-0 win. I honestly don't think we will get anything from this game sorry for the pessimism guys.
Win for us then, we seem to get results when we shouldnt this season, 2-1 to us scrappy horrible game but we some how get a win. Great thread as usual
You're right Belv - hard, hard game. I'm going with you, Ted for a 2-1 win to us and it ain't gonna be pretty... And. You've just given me kittens - it's the following Saturday, the 30th that The Trotters are visiting - hared downstairs to check my ticket! Nice early thread, though.
Very early thread this time. Got the big San Marino match before then. I'm down for this game. Hope the team put in a great performance for me.
ha I completely forgot about the international break and as I couldn't go to this game just assumed it was this saturday! looks like we will get a lot of pre match build up with this thread being up so early! Also are the badges working for anyone?
WE're going to pack the goalmouth with 10 men and have Kermit on his own in midfield/defense :- 0-0-1 with 10 in goal. Charlton 0 Bolton 1 (Kermorgent og)
I'd have preferred to forget about this match in the offing. Really, it's time to break the curse of the Valley saturday, but my faith in the team for these fixtures is honestly about where it was when Parky was in charge in our last season in the championship. While our squad is basic, we are a championship side and should'nt be making such hard work of our home fixtures, but I think football is a confidence game, and the team have'nt got any at the moment. No prediction, though I doubt that I could jinx the team more effectively then our home ground seems to.
What, no mention of Gower anywhere? Surely he will start. He sounds like just the type of player we need, and it's surely a question of who makes way. I've got a feeling it will be Harriott, with Jackson linking up with Wiggins on the left. Wilson may also be dropped to be replaced by Wagstaff or Pritchard. My team would be: Button; Solly;Taylor;Morrison;Evina; Wagstaff;Pritchard;Gower;Jackson; Haynes;Kermit. Recently Harriott has been playing as an attacking mid just behind the front two for the under-21's, very effectively too, and I don't see a role for him in the first team in this position, except as a sub.
............Button............. ..Solly..Taylor..Morrison..Wiggy Haynes..Pritchard..Gower..Jackson..Messi ..............Kermit............ Stephens may come in instead of Pritchard if Gower is there to protect him
That's what I'm hoping for. I'm going with a Bolton fan and a Millwall fan (sorry guys). I shall bring my luck though!!
