Bolton are considering a move for Egyptian international Hosny Abd Rabo.

The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract at Ismaily expired. The Trotters are interested in bringing him over to England but they face competition from a host of other clubs, including Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder is one of the biggest stars of Egyptian football and really made his name by winning the Player of the Tournament award at the African Cup of Nations in 2008.

He has 80 caps and is a key member of Egypt's national team.

    I'm filled with apathy :(
However I remember I felt the same when I heard we would be signing Zat Knight who was woeful at Fulham and not a lot better at Villa, so maybe things will pan out eh :)

    Midfielder eh?
Why are we not looking for any strikers?

Good move if we do so though.

Hosny has been regular for Egypt since 2005 , he would be a good addition to Bolton's squad if the transfer work out ..
