Don't the FA get any say in this...? To boost their numbers in the short-term, Bolton want Fifa to process the signing of winger Gregg Wylde as soon as possible. Free agent Wylde took voluntary redundancy from Glasgow Rangers in March after the club went into administration. Explaining the delay, Coyle said: "For Fifa to give authorisation and clearance they want to know in their own mind it was because Rangers went into administration and Gregg was made redundant." Bolton's game against Villa at the Reebok is one of the club's two games in hand on their Premier League relegation rivals. They are four points behind fourth-bottom Wigan, while Villa are a further two points clear of the Latics.
Unless they get special dispensation from the FA due to not being able to field a full team and bench.
i also heard that one of their players fell foul of a heart attack ... its them bloody northern pies they feed them
Uhh dont think so......they have a youth squad for that....if you cant field a full squad/bench then you have to draw in youth players......otherwise whats the point of having 25 man squad rule?
He is not allowed to play, he was under contract after the window closed. If he signs and plays for them, the teams who go down could sue the FA and FIFA. Under no circumstances should it be allowed, its no different to fielding an ineligible player. Edit, hes confirmed as signed but he should not play until next season.
All this is irrelevant.....he can join Bolton with clearance from the FA or Fifa, but will be ineligible to play as he wasnt included in the 25 man squad submitted at the end of January by Bolton.
It even applies to the sweaty league. He played for them after the window closed too. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report/_/id/335506?cc=5739 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report/_/id/334396?cc=5739
You cant get around it....its a bit like fielding a player banned through a red card as you havent got enough decent players to fill his boots. They have to turn to their youth team if they havent got enough 1st team players......if they did field him all the teams fighting relegation would kick up world war 3.
Exactly, it would be Tevez all over again but with the FA and FIFA, do you honestly trust them to make the correct decision?
Since when have clearly published rules got in the FA's way? They let that Blackburn player's ban get reduced for no reason whatsoever.
Not sure of the full story behind this as haven't seen it but there is the ability to make representations to the League to go outside the squad in exceptional circumstances. After all it's only a few months since a team from Loftus Road tried this very thing with their goalkeeping crisis (but were turned down!) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...remier-League-decision-QPR-keeper-crisis.html
