http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18091522 Tuncay, Ryo Miyachi and Dedryck Boyata have all gone back after loans Ricardo Gardner, Gretar Steinsson, Ivan Klasnic, Paul Robinson, Sean Davis, Robbie Blake, Mark Connolly, Tope Obadeyi, Rhys Bennett, Dino Fazlic and Tom Eckersley all released, and Nigel Reo-Coker chose to take up the release clause in his contract. They're hoping to extend the contracts of Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight or they'll join the released list. Kevin Davies has signed a new one-year deal, and Sam Ricketts has agreed a two-year deal.
Is it Mark or Matthew Connolly that's supposed to be quality? Unfortunately I have a feeling it's the latter.
If you're thinking about the defender that can play anywhere across the back, then it's Matt and he's a QPR player.
Can we please go for Ivan Klasnic! The guy scores 75% of the times that he plays and would actually be pretty decent up alongside Matty Fryatt. Steinsson will be a PL player next year so he's out, would anyone take Sean Davis? I've always rated him as a decent player.
Suprised to see Davies stay if I'm honest, the pundits at the weekend were making out that it was his last game for Bolton. Look forward to welcoming Sam Ricketts back to the KC next season.
Sunderland have let Gordon go, not suggesting we will get him but that's poor business he cost quite a bit.
Bolton may well be looking to snap up quite a few players the likes of which we might('ve) been looking at now they've got so many places to fill. We could do with getting a manager sorted and some targets pinpointed asap. As for their released players, Reo-Coker was on a lot of money there I think, but Klasnic might be worth a cash splash on a free?
I wouldn't say poor particularly. He wasn't injury-prone when they got him so there's no fault there. I would assume with a £9m fee he'll have been given a pretty hefty wage too, and with Mignolet and Westwood at the club, they hardly need a third, especially on say £40k-50k per week, (he'd need a new signing-on fee for a new contract too) with the potential to be sold for around £2m (Nobody is going to pay more than that for Sunderland's 3rd choice injury-prone keeper on high wages). And to be honest they'd probably have trouble shifting him full stop.
£9m fee, £40k a week, 94 games in five years, that's £200k a game. I wouldn't say poor either, I'd call it a ****ing disaster of Bullardesque proportions.
His contract is with Wolfsburg, we'd have to approach them for a loan. At Bolton seems Eagles has kept him out the team.. tell you what though if we lost Koren he'd play "in the hole" quite nicely, similar age and similar pedigree being international captains and playing in World Cups. One of my worries with the Allams is that they don't like the concept of loans, as business men I reckon they don't like putting money into something that isn't an asset. But NP was a dab hand at loans, he'd give players 6 months, then extend if they'd done well, if not send them back and no financial constraints.
