I went to see one of Scotlands top Road Traffic Lawyers yesterday. Basically the evidence is pretty poor for me doing "at least 60mph". This he says would be extremely hard to prove however the PF only has to prove that I was driving dangerously so that gives me a 30/40% chance of getting out the back door. However, he feels that if I plead not guilty but put in a plea of careless driving the PF won;t need to do any work and just accept that I was doing "at least 50 mph" this he says will give me a 90% chance!

Unfortunately he charges £200+VAT an hour and he say shouldn;t take any more that 5 hrs. He's so sure of that he says he won't charge me anymore that that amount so I'm looking at a bill of £1175 <yikes>

Do you know Nev I was thinking that myself. I know a lawyer down in Bridgeton who would prob do that for a couple of £100 <ok>

I trust I don't need to tell you why I'm not surprised at that comment ML? <laugh>

You're right Dougie <ok> I may get a 3 month ban but I don't need to resit my test thankfully! I'll take that, 6 points and a £300 fine no worries!
The worst thing would be not able to take the missus to and from the hospital when Baby Bollo comes into the world in March <doh>

    **** the solicitor!

    Do it yourself!

Show compassion - apologise and explain why you dont want to lose your license. Hold your hands up and they'll go easier on you. You'll get a big fine IMO - but less than the solicitor would cost ye

I'd be surprised if you were banned -its probably an option open to the court - but unlikely IMO

I wish it was that simple Anportmor. I'm being done with dangerous driving only. There's no fall back charges i.e excessive speeding or careless driving. They're going to pursue the DD charge which is an automatic 12 months ban + resit.
Unless I'm missing something out only a lawyer can bargain with a PF?

Do your own defence, and do it in the style of a poem.

    You'll get off with it.

    Or sectioned aswell.

An ode to dangerous driving and remorse...

To the PF and you Judge, I know it's difficult to budge,
on the charge against myself, against me and no one else,
but if you just give me a mo and allow me Bollo Bollo to show,
why I think i should just let out free, by the end of the I hope you do agree.

See as Michael Winner once said,
"I'm really a good driver"... no scrub that I wish the **** was dead,
it was my one and only time, that I'd ever committed a car crime,
now I'm not calling the policeman a liar, but only bought my car a few days prior,
so I wouldn't have known the speed but "at least 60 mph an hour" that's a bit steep!??!

See contrary to Dougie thinking I'm gay, I'm not Mrs B has a baby on the way,
so you must understand it's severely harsh, when my musses breaks water and her downstairs is like a marsh,
I won't be able to run her to the Royal, **** sake without me we'll ****ing toil!!
So come on Judge take this money what do you say, if you don't take it I'll drive my ****ing car anyway!

**** THE POLICE **** THE POLICE!!!!
