Pompey’s trio of friendlies against local non-league opponents have resulted in three wins, eight goals scored and just two conceded.

And John Mousinho was pleased with the latest contest, which resulted in a 2-0 success against Bognor in West Sussex.

Jordan Williams and Kusini Yengi struck in quick succession midway through the first half, while there were several more chances for the visitors.

Mousinho saw plenty of things he liked at Nyewood Lane, as his side continue to build up to the new Championship campaign.

The Blues boss said: “I was pleased once again to follow up what was a good performance against Havant & Waterlooville the previous day.

“Once again we got fitness into the legs of the lads, a positive display and then another victory on top of that.

“There were some things that I was really pleased with – particularly our structure and shape in the first half.

“The boys looked calm and composed on the ball against opposition that looked to press us and there were good forward runs.

“We maybe could have scored a few more goals because there were a lot of chances, but Bognor are a decent side.”

The only sour note for Pompey was seeing summer arrival Sammy Silvera limp from the field late in the first half.

Mousinho said: “It was just a dead leg after a collision with the keeper – there’s nothing muscular there and no ligaments involved.

“He’s iced it and so we’ll have to see how bad it is, but usually you’re looking at days or a maximum of a week, so we’re not too concerned.”

Pompey: Will Norris (Jordan Archer 46); Jordan Williams (Terry Devlin 62), Connor Shaughnessy (Trialist A 62), Tom McIntyre (Ryley Towler 62), Conor Ogilvie (Jack Sparkes 62); Marlon Pack (c) (Owen Moxon 62), Tom Lowery (Ben Stevenson 62); Paddy Lane (Christian Saydee 62), Sammy Silvera (Callum Lang 39 (Reuben Swann 82)), Josh Murphy (Harry Clout 62); Kusini Yengi (Trialist B 62)
Goals: Jordan Williams 23; Kusini Yengi 24
