How good is our defence ?

All the talk at the start of the season would how busy AM would be in goal , week in week out.Apart from Chelsea i think it is safe to count his outstanding saves on one hand. The defence is awesome and we seem to have someone covering every through bal, cross and scramble , reducing teams to long shots and scraps, including Newcastle last week.I am proud of everyone of them from forward to goalkeeper , but the back line in particular will see us through with a never let them get passed attitude.

Bruce himself was the same sort of player.

Some cracking players we've got here.

Loving every minute of watching some decent defensive displays by the likes of Chester, Elmo, Figueroa, Rosey and Davies. And even big Abdi Faye slotted in with ease today.

I used to get ridiculously nervous when we sat back and defended deeper and deeper.

It must be a massive confidence boost to all the lads that they know the defence is made of stern stuff.

The problem with the type of 'backs to the wall' defending that we showed in the last 20 minutes is that more often than not you are going to concede, especially against the best teams, which West Ham are definitely not. If the ball keeps coming into your area, eventually top class forwards will score. Once Graham went off we lost our shape - no one could hold the ball and allow us to regain the initiative. Worked today and that's massive credit to the back 5.

true Graham can hold a ball up, Sagbo runs with his head down, he is too greedy, trying to go it alone.
Of those 2, Graham has more chance of scoring.

Faye's lack of pace the reason for sitting deeper today?
