Get rid - or make him rot in the reserves.
We were made a fool of by Maynard which infuriated me last time around. We don’t need to be messed about by either him or his agent - we are bigger than them.

No need to jump to extreme measures like saying 'let him rot' - wouldn't exactly make him eager to sign and wouldn't endear us to other players either.

There were plenty of fans saying 'he hasn't made it, get rid' before the season started, but now that he's made a big contribution to a great season and is in a strong negotiating position, he's perfectly entitled to try and get a good deal for himself. I'd like to think he will eventually sign.

I would prefer him to sign of course, but I don’t want a Maynard situation and I believe that should be avoided at all costs.

Sure, but sticking him in the reserves ain't the way to do it. Show him respect and that'll improve the odds of him seeing that City is probably the best place for him to be.

I can understand a player's desire to improve their lot and move to higher ground but often the scent they leave behind is quite bad and we have seen players of that ilk pass through our gates over the years. My suggestion to them is that if they have difficulty being a big fish in a small pond then by all means go for the bigger deeper water but be well warned it can prove treacherous to your well being and playing time. As a somewhat sad anecdote to this subject you just have to look at Steve Caulker who was rumoured to be heading for the stratosphere but, due to personal issues, has disappeared off the radar. My best wishes to you Steve and please get well and return to the game.

Let’s be fair guys Bobby Reid pre this season has blown hot and cold, moving him forward could have gone either way.
Yes he is doing much better this season, but there is still a lot he can improve on.
Personally not sure if he will make it as a out and out striker long term.
I think his move forward was due to injury’s at the seasons start.
Yes he has done well so far,but the last 4/6 weeks he seems to have gone of the boil.

We are fortunate that the goal scoring load is spread around the pitch and we don't need to rely solely on a single player such as in the past. Bobby will come good and perhaps when some of the injured return he might feel less pressured.
