Just been told that Bobby Jones passed away today. He was one of my all time favourites at Eastville. I can remember him scoring two goals against Newcastle in the old League Cup and if my memory is correct Malcolm Macdonald was playing for them. R.I.P Bobby and thanks for the memories

Remember Bobby, Wayne and Gwyn jones playing in the same team, always thought they sounded like a firm of solicitors. Great whole hearted player thoughts are with his family at this time RIP Bobby

Fastest player over 30 to 40 yards or so that you could wish to see. As a football professional, he was not allowed to compete in the shamateurist athletics world of his day.It would have been interesting to see how well he would have done had he been able to compete on the athletics circuit as a modern day sprinter where getting paid to compete is the norm.

Saw him play when I first started watching The Gas back in the Eastville days, towards the end of his career. Harold Jarman would have been playing then too I think. Bobby Jones was an absolute legend.

I can remember bobby jones and ray mabbutt as our 2 main strikers. It must have been the shortest strike force in Rovers History, but i would imagine that there scoring record was as good as any others.
