Saddened to hear tonight of the passing of Bobby. Although before my time as Leeds supporter he is someone who has stuck out as a Leeds legend even when that tern is thrown about too freely. He summed up how I think a winning team should play, and look at Barcelona today when you consider this, with this quote- "Don Revie taught me this- when you have the ball play. When you dont, do not let them play." RIP Bobby.
According to Eddie Gray, Bobby Collins was the most influential player to ever play for Leeds United. That's quite some tribute. RIP Bobby Collins
RIP Bobby Collins Never had the pleasure of seeing you play but can only say I have heard wonderful things about a true Leeds legend
Bobby was the first player I ever remember. As a 6-year old my dad read me the green paper on a Saturday night and the headline I remember even now was "Leeds Buryem" because we had banged 6 past Bury and Bobby Collins was on the score sheet. This was the era when we were just starting our climb from the lower reaches of the FL under Don Revie. Bobby was the man on the field and a forerunner of what leeds captain should be as Billy would tell you if he were here today. Sad day Bobby but you'll not be forgotten.
I hope so Boggers, but I was expecting them to turn up after that shambles of a Rochdale game, that never happened. Collins, Bremner, Giles etc, played with pride, maybe the players of 2014 should watch a few clips........
Just thought I would pass by and pay my respects to a real footballer thankfully had the pleasure to see him play... you will be missed but not forgotten
