    When the word ‘great’ is consistently misused, Bobby was a genuine and true ‘great’ in football terms. One of a unique few Englishmen to have won the World Cup. RIP

    Just announced that Bobby Charlton has died. Sad news but at least he doesn't have to watch Man Utd again this season.

    First games I remember watching were the 1996 World cup. Probably his finest hour.

    Just checked and Geoff Hurst is the only England World Cup winner still alive. About 5 of them have now died in the last 2 years or so.
