Very sad news! Great band. Must have been something like 1965 when I first saw Peter Green playing with with John Mayall down on the Eel Pie Island, that's nearly 50 years ago if I'm not missing some decades, and his Fleetwood Mac are still playing?

It bears little resemblance to the original Peter Green version of the band. In the late 60s they were one of THE outstanding bands. I knew their lead guitarist of that era Danny Kirwan and actually worked with his dad in the late 70s, like Green he was mentally destroyed by LSD on top of his serious drink problem as many great musicians have been and his dad Alec was living the pain of any parent that sees their child reduced to a shell. Danny never forgave Bob Welch for being the catalyst for his sacking from the band and Welch was never in the same class as either Green or Kirwan. The group went backwards whilst he was in it and only found new success when he was replaced by Lindsay Buckingham...

This is the classic line-up live...

Good psot Sooper, you're obviously a fan.

I still regard "Everywhere" as one of the best songs out there. I know its a bit naff but its very catchy.
