    My nephew just text me to ask why there is a statue of Freddy Kruger outside the Stadium of ****e! <laugh> ...I told him he was an idol to all Mackems!

    It's good to see that the Geordie youth of today are going to grow up knowing nothing of NE English history. Bob Stokoe was a legend of a man, and despite his Newcastle roots, can transcend the rivalry between our clubs. Something a certain Sir Bobby was able to do. Would have thought that after all the years Bob put into NUFC you would have corrected the wee fella and put him on the right track...

    My nephew knows full well all about Bob Stokoe - he was simply making a light-hearted remark based on the likeness to the fictional horror character in the statue.

    It had never occured to me and thought it was some harmless fun. Good to see people aren't taking things too seriously then...<doh>

    Bob Stokoe was one of us once so I think we're entitled to enjoy the humour.

    It doesn't concern me as i'm an atheist and am not immature enough to believe in fairy stories like the bible.

    Well in that case I apologise. Just don't like to see someone of Bob's standing being berated, and his service to the game and what he did not only for SAFC, but also NUFC - not passed on to the supporting youth of either club.

    Also, I do think that any other day we might have laughed... but today is the day to end all days... emotions are running high and everyone is on edge. Speaking of which, i need another beer. Managed to get on FOX Sports and buy the match for the computer... so a HD screen in English commentary, cold beers and a some snacks. Im set.
