Doesn't seem to be any bad vibes between the board and Laudrup; unless - ofcourse - they worry about the clubs image, but it doesn't seem to be the point when you read the article...
They protect his image and his honor by stating that he's at Swansea, and that Ajax were supposed to know that. And that he's not a vagabond, but the manager of this club
they can only go on his version and accept it as true but they cant back him...its nothing to do with us....no smoke without fire and all that....He should attend the court date and sort it out before it starts to effect the club....if he is innocent then he has nothing to fear has he..
John Van Zweden is an ADO Den Hag supporter (and Swans fan/director too obv) and they hate Ajax! He must be loving having a pop at them. The board are being clever in having a Dutchman ridiculing a Dutch team for the manner they conduct business, ML and Huw can act properly and legally whilst JVZ gives it the pundit type spin. At the the end of the day though the ML and Ajax affair are nothing to do with the football here.
Dai clearly didn't read the article........ Although "sticks up for" is not the way I would have worded it.
The board are quite right in sticking up for him too. After all this time it's ridiculous that the story has been regurgitated. As Steve says its has nothing do with Swansea City
for all we know they have been trying to contact him but he is ignoring them, that is not a sign of someone who has nothing to hide is it......like i said its nothing to do with us so what will be will be but i cant see Ajax and their lawyers letting it go if they believe with proof he owes their club a few million....Im sure the swans wouldn't..
Can you believe they put an ad in a paper asking for his whereabouts ? I take it they don't watch the Premier league then
Just don't understand Ajax with this, hell it's to do with tax back in 1999? How can they persue a debt so old?............
If they are chasing him for unpaid tax it begs the question why isn't the Dutch tax man the one knocking on the door? And why leave it so long? Odd story all round.
What they did was pathetic, he may not live in holland, and may not have a permanent address that they know of, but if posting in a paper was the only option, the guy who decided that needs to be sacked. Everyone in football especially in Holland, will know where Laudrup works, it would have been more professional to get in contact with the club and ask then to pass on a message for ML to contact them. Instead they acted like a petulant child and the club are right to get behind the manager in regards to how Ajax went about it.
Have you everyone else on ignore valley because i never started the thread i am not the only one taking part on the thread so whats your problem???? why single me out..???
They claim that he owes them £2.5m in taxes, so going on the 40% rate of tax it would mean he was earning well over £5m a year so £100k a week. This is 18 years ago and he was there for 1 season. Think it's bullshit , as nobody was earning that kind of money back then
We dont know the full story do we but its very topical to them...should we have let biggs go because he was on the run all them years or was it right to continue pursuing the matter..
I've mentioned statute barred in another thread, I think holland would have similar laws to us in this regard, though obviously not being Dutch I'm not 100% sure
