It's looking good if we can keep hold of our better defenders and midfielders and improve up front in the summer.

Im really looking forward to seeing Ireland play now as well. I love Nolan but he doesn't get involved in the atttacking build up as much as Ireland. It will be great to see a different option going forward in CM.

linked with another midfielder today(Milan Badelj) i really don't think we need another one until we trim the ones we have,we have a good bit of quality in midfield

Nolan,Barton,Guthrie,Routledge(out on loan),Gosling,Ireland(loan)Tiote,LuaLua,Vuckic,Ferguson,Donaldson,Inman,Ben Arfa,Smith,Adjei,Moyo.

and the young un Mogwo had an impressive run out for his first appearance for the stiffs

 

If you think of the likes of Ben Arfa and Gosling still to return, plus the likes of Ameobi, Taylor (R & S) to come back we've a very decent squad. A couple of good additions in summer and I'm very very optimistic for next season!

 

We still are in dire need of a striker. Havent seen enough of ben arfa to know his beat position, but he is no striker.
My fear is we will spend the next 10 years and a lot more than £ 35 million trying to find one- that is a dynamic 20 goals a season man. Until we get a good striker we wont be top 5 or 6 club

Thoughts?

 

Need a quality striker or two in the summer. Replace the ''past it never going to be a quality striker'' Ameobi(Only joking, but if we get a very good offer then we should consider it, especially if we get two strikers), Maybe Lover(depending on form) and Kuqi.

 

We are a way off top 5/6 yet, not that far but it's been such a crazy-ass prem this season that I don't think any of us know quite how good we are yet. With a couple of shrewd moves and no ashley madness i'm very confident we are a top half pushing for europe team next season. Once we become mathematically safe is when we can all relax THIS YEAR

 

Kind of agree. But then again it's difficult to attract a proven 20 goal a season striker unless you're already playing in Europe. It's a bit of a vicious circle.

It's the struggles of being a mid-table club. If you have a player in your team that has had a good season or shows great potential, he's more than likely going to be nabbed by a bigger club (most recent example being Andy Carroll). That's why I wouldn't be surprised if Tiote goes in the summer.
