Assuming CCS not flooded, Brentford visit us tomorrow. They are guaranteed to dominate possession, keeping their wingers and/or wingbacks really wide. We will be chasing shadows all afternoon. With not much ball can our more physical game shake them up a bit. Their confidence will have taken a knock from their defeat at Luton but after our mostly dismal display v Forest can Harris inspire our motley crew to play above themselves and snatch a much needed win? I can't think of any famous Brentford players to mention here. Can anyone help? For me their most famous feature was to have a pub on each corner of Griffin Park. 2 of these have since closed and all will be shut at the end of this season when they move to a new, purpose built 20k seater stadium. Bet there are no corner pubs there - just expensive, card payment only bars inside the ground. I don't think we have any new injury worries but with no press conference yesterday I don't know. All I know is that Joe Ralls must start in the Tomlin role with either Pato or Glatzel benched - probably the latter. Sanderson must have another outing and should Smith get a go ahead of a weary Bennett? Murphy to the bench after his lack of team awareness on Tuesday. Hoilett to left wing to give Bennett or Smith better cover with Whyte to right wing to help Sanderson. Rest as per Tuesday. Any other thoughts folks?
If you Google famous Brentford players up comes a list of players I don't recognise other than keeper Simon Moore who we signed from them. Made less than twenty appearances for the Bluebirds but I quite liked him.
City will be chasing shadows and relying on long throws and high punts. Can’t see anything other than a comfortable Brentford win. Especially given Simon useless Hooper is the ref
Twat!!! We had this useless lump of lard only 4 weeks ago for the 1.1 Reading draw. He was total dogsh1t then. I upset Masky with my colourful description of him - Hooper not Masky!!! Could be a long and painful afternoon. No wonder the league didn't announce him until today.
Yep, I looked at the same list. In that case BT do you recall the game we somehow won 2.1 at Brentford 5/6 years ago. Moore was our keeper who virtually threw the ball in the net for their goal. Not an inspirational keeper by a long chalk.
Yes I do. Macheda and Revel scored for City and Macheda and Harris were sent off. Good atmosphere that day
I think most of us would have taken that before the game and certainly at 2 down but could/should have won it?
Sat in the car in disbelief that reffing could get any worse than we've had recently. Sorry for the expletives but that bastard Hooper cost us 2 points today with a mind boggling abject performance - the man is an absolute twat. I'm going to drive home now and I hope I make it.
He doesn't change then. Shame on Masky for calling me out last time when I said Hooper was a useless turd. Or something like that.
That's twice in 29 days Hooper's feeble attempts at being a referee have cost us 2 points. City must protest and insist the pompous, little, fat twat never darkens our door again.
It’s not only Hooper it was his hopeless linesman on Ninian side. That’s 3 refs which have cost us how many points in last 3 games. BTW fair play to City for coming back and getting stuck in.
