bloody space bar CARDIFF City are being linked with a £500,000 bid for Brighton winger Craig Noone. Liverpool-born Noone, 24, has made 26 first-team appearances for Brighton this season and is a highly-rated wide midfield player. Flying winger Noone signed for Brighton from Plymouth Argyle for £300,000 a year ago and has become a fans favourite thanks to his pace and ability to beat defenders. The former Liverpool junior dropped into non-league football after leaving Anfield, playing for Skelmersdale United, Burscough, Southport before Plymouth Argyle signed him. Belgian club Royal Antwerp, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic have all shown interest in Noone, who helped Brighton earn promotion from League One last season. Noone has been in Germany for treatment on a hamstring injury this week and is unlikely to play for Brighton against Wrexham in the FA Cup today. Last night, neither Cardiff City or Brighton would confirm the interest in Noone. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...er-noone-91466-30075510/#.Twf-w8EbpbA.twitter
If he had to go to Germany for treatment of a hamstring injury we might be want to be a bit cautious over this one. He's not Scotttish anyway - so I can't see us being interested.
Why would Brighton let him go to a rival? He only signed a year ago so is unlikely to be close to being out of contract. Do Brighton have financial issues after moving to their new stadium? I wouldn't have thought so. Or do they want to sell to invest in other new players? If so, who are they? Must be worth a look if considered to be an improvement on Noone. He was an unused sub against us. However, Malky knows what he is doing so all will be revealed when he is ready.
rarely does a first time bid get accepted... unless it's £35m for Carroll then you snap their arm off
he is the type of bloke we need to to be fair not seen much of him personally but if he can beat and man and put in good crosses it sounds good to me
The Geordies managed to get Liverpool to up their offer twice! Noone is just the type of player we need but I can't see Brighton letting him go unless they have a replacement lined up. Only reason I could see it happening is if he pushes for the move
Rumour was that Liverpool started around £25mil and up to £30mil. Both of which Ashley rejected. Two 'get out of jail free' cards used up that day! £700k and Earnie sounds good to me. Nice to know that their is a bit of cash to spend even if we don't sign Noone.
brighton are doing really well at the moment, i thought for a moment he was a league 1 player but they are of course more than holding their own in the league, they beat us in august i believe.. having come from non league football he could have some fight about him, determination, and that can only be a good thing
A tad concerned about his injury and further concerned that he appears to be a bit Walcott like as in can't cross a ball to save his life
Maybe.... But their hardly in a difficult financial position with the new stadium and all. And as Thai will soon tell you -there's no such thing as a "no selling club" and that everyone has their price Poyet is sprouting his usual crap - http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...-noone-as-brighton-stand-firm-91466-30082873/
