Blackman, plays left back doesn't have a first name I don't think but I suggest Hunlika. Can also play on the left hand side of midfield. Anyone ever heard of him before?
IM always willing to give a new signing a chance before making a judgement, but Blackman moved from Arsenal to Tottenham, Portsmouth and Bristol City without making a first team appearance before a switch to Conference National club AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2010 we are his 6th club - and hes played 13 games in the Conferance National division - and was then released by the national conference team I live in Bristol too - and bristol city are ****e. so if he coulnt get a game there i have concerns You never know though - might be a late bloomer
It's a strange one. If he's a better option than any of our young LBs coming through the ranks that doesn't say much for them. On the other hand he did come to us on trial and supposedly impressed and that's pretty unusual.
We laugh and sneer when Celtic bring a player on trial and don't sign him. Now we question why Celtic have signed someone. This player has gone off the rails and let us hope that maybe he has matured and saw the light. I don't suppose he will cost us much at any rate and our management tram must think is worth a chance. I just hope if he goes back to his bad old days he doesn't have a bad influence on uor young players.
Does it not concern you that we're signing a young player out of contract from a conference league when we should really be bringing our own youth players through?
We had a left back on loan that actually played in a world cup final , he was rank rotten , remember his hand ball up at Aberdeen ???
My innocent brain wondered what kind o name Hunlika was..... For most of the day I thought it represented a conciliatory tone towards our Glasgow rivals. I for one hope he is a Hunhater.
Stereo, I would like far more of our young players to come through. I think this has been a problem for years and I often wonder what is the point in having a youth academy, if we are bringing through these players and then them becoming regulars on the team, on merit or sold on for money. At the same time I would like to think some people at management level saw something in Blackman that made him different in a positive way.
