As I'm watching the game, some of the names the commentators are rattling off are quite impressive, I have to admit. Taraabt, Wright-Phillips and Zamora I knew about, but Bosingwa? Cesar? Granero? Hoillet? Diakhite and Mbia? These are all 'fairly' big names, Bosingwa was rated as a good right back, good enough for chelsea to pay 18 mill or so for him (although admittedly he flopped), Cesar, was , up until 3 years ago, in everyone's top 3 GK list (alongside Buffon and Casillas), Granero was one of those next big things that didn't quite become the next big thing, and I'm sure we've been sporadically linked with both Diakhite, Hoillet and Mbia, so its a suprise to see them all at QPR if I'm honest. Surprising to see that they're 20th, considering the team they've got
It's basically what would happen if you were playing Football Manager and got a team into the Prem - lots of almost top players, almost all attacking players - and some dodgey tactics!
But yeah a better manager would have QPR comfortably avoiding relegation with the players and money at there disposal.
A lot of those players are just reputations. They're either past it or never made it, in either case they're living off of their old reputations and former employers coat-tails.
Not true....SWP and Park and Zamora maybe......but Cesar was world class today and M'Bia, Tarrabt, Grenaro, Hoilett and Diakie are hardly past it! Faurlin on the bench is also as good as Granero, but the fool Hughes left him out and played the wrong formation, starting with SWP instead!!
**** it, I definitely know what team I'm choosing for fm13, Arsenal's always too easy Hughes is a totally clueless tosspot though, I don't blame him for his woes at City (he didn't get to pick the team or signings), but he's been rubbish since at QPR
Agreed. We gave him a free reign and he's f'd up completely. bored of his excuses now. Win next week or go as far as I'm concerned. As for past it players, i think you maybe need to look a bit closer. good luck for the rest of the season though.
