Yep. Good article and nails the points that have been made by most sensible fans on this board. If they report on the facts then they won't go far wrong. It's when they speculate they go t1ts up.
Wow! Am impressed - did not think you could use 'decent article' and 'Echo' in the same sentance! Reads as a Saints supporter too - he'll be getting his cards at the end of the month if he's not careful!
Someone twittering on the Echo web site saying that less than 20,000 expected on Saturday, no source quoted, thoughts.
Well when I rang up last Wednesday I was told they were selling well...I'll be absolutely shocked if it's less than 20,000. Leeds will have 3,000, we will most probably sell 14/15,000 season tickets...I reckon the attendance will be about 29-30,000
Its on TV and the Holiday season.....whilst I think 20k is a WUM comment, I think 29-30k is a tad optimistic. A lot has been made by the club that it's a big game to start off and although Leeds are a very big club playing them is not exactly a novelty. I would imagine an above average crowd from Saints on last season and with a big away support to match 25k.
On topic that was an excellent piece from The Echo....... for once!!! On the guess of the crowd for our game I'd say somewhere between 26-28k
I think Dan Kerins always seems to write interesting articles in his "View from the Chapel" as opposed to the cut and paste monkeys who also work at the Echo.
