Is it blind optimism of a new season or genuine belief that we have a decent squad and manager. Dont get me wrong I'm not saying we're going to finish in the top two or anything but my feeling for the start of this season compared to last season is polar opposite. That's without considering the financial turmoil were having to put up with. I was thinking this before today's signings which only strengthens my feelings. UP THE TIGERS
Ironic isn't it? But yeah, I'm far more optimistic for this season compared to last for entirely football reasons. Still think there's question marks about the reliability of the new centre halves and Akintola and Destan are unknown quantities. Williams is still a risk that could be either a masterstroke or a disaster, but overall we look a decent championship outfit if we can have better luck with keeping key players fit than last season
Completely agree. It's even the (what looks like) a huge improvement in Giles, Drameh and Palmer from last season
They're playing for the manager and eachother at the moment. Long may it continue. Think Giles getting his move and realising the grass isn't greener after all has helped his focus too.
Kinda transfer related in a way. I think it’s time we brought back minimum 4 British players in Prem starting line-uos. Not one single British player starting for Liverpool and only a couple on the bench! Pisses me right off.
So, when Pandur gets injured..............................................................................................????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I am slightly optimistic we could be mid table....maybe a sniff of playoffs with 10 to go. The big Dawg seems to have them playing for him and there seems to be a togetherness. I wonder how much a player leaving (kamara) impacts the group. AWOOGA
throw in seri from 2 years ago into this side and with millar and belloumi id say playoffs thats the sorta player we missing now
The club are continuing to do an excellent job in the market with what feels like one hand tied behind its back. The new man in charge seems to have made a quick bond with the players and hasn’t by the sound of things had second thoughts about certain players after realising what was needed. The Championship is still a difficult league if you’re not prepared for it but whilst we cannot compete financially with some clubs we might well surprise a few favourites and pundits alike. Be interesting to see what happens. UTT.
