Two articles in today's Telegraph which can be accessed through BBC Sport page. One is about Bale, in which L'Equipe calls us "The English Barcelona" comparing Modric to Xavi (fair enough, IMO) calling Bale our Lionel Messi (Not sure anout that one!) In the other article, Rafa thinks we can win the title because City will choke, and we are more of a team. Perhaps we shpuld arrange a game against Barca, and see what happens
Barcelona are duller than us, they pass and pass and pass merely to tire the opposition out, we take more risks which leads to a more exciting game
I actually hate watching Barca play, it gets so boring watching one team dominate a game. I like watching open football with both teams creating chances. The only time when I would like to see one team dominate is my own team, albeit we have dominated most of our games against the lesser sides but our lack of quality in front of goal cancels that out and doesn't make it enjoyable to watch.
I've pretty much stopped watching Spanish football this season, there's far too much diving. Say what you want about La Liga having better footballers, the Premiership makes far better games.
Mascherano never used to dive and roll around on the floor in England...it's part of his trade now and embarrassing to watch.
NSIS - can you provide a link? i need to get this to two of my chav supporting mates; they've been winding me up all morning.
Not sure how to do it with this iPad I'm using. If you go to the BBC Sport/ football gossip page. You'll see the story about Rafa. Once you've accessed that, you'll see the link to the other article on there.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...gue-title-race-says-Rafael-van-der-Vaart.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...after-a-tactical-tweak-by-Harry-Redknapp.html These the links I think. The Spanish do really love Spurs as I said on here before.I always listen to the Spanish commentary as it's nice to hear them saying what a fast and technically great team we are.
cheers Fella's. - Going back to your original post NSIS, I think Rafa is right to be honest. the fact that we are a team is the reason we're playing so well. you've only gotta look at chelsea; being held together by sturridge, mata, drogba and a couple of others. a few names performing well, but a complete lack of a team overall. - it's now starting to show. I said to friends a couple of months ago that we were like a bit like barcelona in the way we play, but they just laughed at me. (2 Gooners fans, 2 Chav fans).- not surprising really, they would never be able to admit that after so many years on top, we're finally better. it's nice to see that the media are now reporting exactly what I mentioned. this season is proving to be very satisfying.
In the 90s the Dutch invented "total football" and we are the modern day arbiters of that style of football. If we win the league, it will be a victory for football. We will be the modern-day Blackburn.
No HIAG total football came from Ajax in the late 60's - 70's and adopted by the national side. In the 50's Spurs developed push & run football and an exciting form of football which we stayed true too until the present day.
