Blatter speaks.... "Many hold me ultimately responsible for the football community, but I can not monitor everyone all of the time". Well that explains it then. Thanks Sepp, you are doing a great job Uefa boss Michel Platini have called on him to resign. Blatter said "No". In his 1st interview since the FBI and the Swiss police made all arrests yesterday, he sounded secure in his own personal conviction that he has a future at Fifa. He said "The actions of individuals bring shame and humiliation on football" and he feels he is the guy to bring change to bring back the good reputation and trust back! I just cannot believe the arrogance of the man. Anyone would stand down and walk away in his position. Look at the pic below! How is he NOT involved? If he truely is not involved then he needs to walk anyway because what sort of leader is he for that to be going on for over 20 years under his watch! please log in to view this image Here is his interview...
The corrupt old **** has the backing of most Asian, American and African FA's and will win another term of office today. The countries that love him ironically are some of the most corrupt nations on Earth. I'd like to see UEFA make a stand and dump FIFA altogether.
Yes UEFA leave FIFA and go it alone. Maybe play a Euro championship every 2 years. Would like to see England in a 5 nation tournament vs Rep of Ireland, N Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We will get the sponsorships and it will work. Those who vote for Blatter needs to be investigated too. Why else vote for the guy who hides away any responsibility when things go wrong at FIFA and where the corruption has gone on for so long and nothing been done by Blatter - who has just denied everything when it came out before - how can they think he is the right man to do that job which he has done so poorly in last 20 years or so. Surely there is something wrong with those who still vote for Blatter. In any other workplace, the top man would just simply walk away now. Instead he came out yesterday and said "the individuals bring shame and humiliation on football". Umm no Mr Blatter. They dont bring shame and humiliation on football on football. They bring shame and humiliation on you and FIFA.
Any manager of any company in the world who states that he doesn't know what his staff are doing would probably and should be sacked as the company I believe would be responsible for it's staff and their dealing within that company. Fifa receives something like £4 billion per year, if he is not capable of running FIFA then he should Quit. Today is the 30th anniversary of the Heysel disaster in which 30? people died, Eufa have refused to make a statement on this anniversary year, and the goal scorer in that match I believe was Michel Platini
Unfortunately the majority of countries who will vote for Blatter will be those who receive the best financial support from him. Normal politics rule! Vote from your pocket!
3 didnt vote. obviously they must be against blatter and didnt vote thinking the prince wouldnt win. those 3 will vote for the prince now im sure of it. round 2 whoever gets the majority wins. the prince got some work to do to convince voters to change their mind and vote for him. good on him.
blatter missed out by 7 votes to win it. remember mind that 7 officials have been arrested. wonder who they would have voted for. blatter of course! so blatter missed out winning in round 1 due to those who got arrested. what a story that could be if blatter loses in round 2.
blatter didnt lose round 2. the prince withdrew and didnt want to contest further. disgrace. i hope uefa pulls out now and go it alone.
UEFA? Who runs them? Innocent? Laurent, the son of Michel Platini, the executive committee member for France and president of Uefa, became the chief executive of Burrda, a Qatar-owned sports company. Michel Platini has always said that his son's role was completely unconnected to him voting for Qatar to host the World Cup
Money's ruined football. All this stuff with FIFA, then the effect of The Champions League... and the TV money poured into the Premier League. Give me the Football League any day. It must be one almighty web for Blatter to be able to ride this out. Seems like there's no hope for the integrity of the beautiful game.
gas wouldnt be able to travel for this WC in Qatar! Taken from the Government foreign travel advice site https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/qatar/local-laws-and-customs "It is an offence to drink alcohol or be drunk in public. Alcohol is available at licensed hotel restaurants and bars, and expatriates living in Qatar can obtain alcohol on a permit system. Don’t carry alcohol around with you (except to take it on the day of collection from the warehouse to your home). You should dress modestly when in public, including while driving. Women should cover their shoulders and avoid wearing short skirts. Any intimacy in public between men and women (including between teenagers) can lead to arrest. Homosexual behaviour is illegal in Qatar."
Jon is there enough money left in the FFS fund to hire a hitman, because I think that's the only way we will ever get rid of him Says he wont forget what Europe has done, I'm guessing Europe won't forget what he hasn't done
South Africa admit a pay out which ended up securing them as host of the WC 2010 but deny it was a bribe http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-32952078 If I was involved with any of the other countries who was involved in the bidding process, I would now put in a lawsuit against FIFA for the money spent on bidding for the WC (plus interest) which was always going to be won by S. Africa due to corruption.
