From an outside perspective, at that point Lee Dixon was spot on. Norwich were pretty dreadful in that game and defensively looked like a Championship side up against Premier League strikers in the early part of the season.

The confidence and stature has grown since then but I don't think he was wrong at that point. He said there needed to be an improvement and there has been, although you are relying a lot on Ruddy who has been outstanding.

Probably after the WBA game a lot of us were sharing his doubts,we didn't start well and I would be the first to admit that when Holt got dropped to sub by PL I thought that he wasn't up to this level.Is it my imagination or has he lost weight?

He looks a yard quicker than in the early part of the season.His positioning and anticipation is second to none and I think that bit of extra pace has been the reason for this current scoring spate.

Don't you remember last year mate, when people were saying the same thing half a dozen games into it the season? He always seems to get better and better as the season goes on, which bodes very well for our run-in and even more disappointing that he's not got a look in now as surely nobody else will be given a chance in the championsips even if he is still banging them in then.

And as for us "relying on Ruddy" Do me a favour, he has been excellent this season, absolutely top drawer. But I wouldn't say he's been "outstanding" as he hasn't really needed to be as much as a typical struggling side being peppered with shots for 90 minutes. As great as he has been I don't actually recall him ever winning MoM (I could be wrong in this, please correct me if so) and if anyone has been outstanding at the back it has been Whitbread or Kyle Naughton.

agree with yorkie about the analysis. however, we have most certainly not been reliant on ruddy. yes he has had an excellent season when called upon but generally in most matches we've had more attempts on goal than our opponents. its our attacking play which we rely on, not our goalkeeper. he was man of the match at anfield and thats about it! maybe one or two more but not many. he genuinely doesn't have that much to do which is a good sign.

must also point out that baring sunderland away, west brom at home was easily our worst performance of the season and not a great indicator of how we would fair over the course of a season. add to this west brom's outstanding away form all season and suddenly it wasn't such an outrageously bad result

Well, you learn something new every day. I never realsied a team was supposed to rely on it's keeper
