He's taking the piss right? Asamoah Gyan admits he has not spoken to Steve Bruce since completing a loan switch from Sunderland to Al-Ain. The Ghanaian striker has moved to the Middle East on a money-spinning season-long agreement. Bruce was reluctant to part with the striker, having splashed out £13million on his services in the summer of 2010. Having been left frustrated by the whole ordeal, the Black Cats boss has claimed that it would be difficult for the African ace to return to the Stadium of Light. His comments have not gone down well with Gyan, who maintains that he has acted professionally throughout. Consent Having been left disappointed by Bruce's words and actions, the 25-year-old claims he has decided to blank the Sunderland chief since leaving Wearside. "I've heard comments he's made since I left which I'm disappointed about," said Gyan. "Because of that I've not called him since I moved here. "Steve Bruce was aware I was moving. Everybody at the club gave consent to the move because of the money involved." It is reported that Al-Ain paid £6million to secure Gyan's services and are paying him around £200,000-a-week. .
Oi you get of a my thread!!!!!!!!! Na only kidding chappz, your right they must be insane over there.
Either Bruce is Lieing and he did know about it He didnt know about it, and the rug was pulled from under him by upstairs. Gyan done the dirty. I just cant see Al Ain phoning up on the friday to Quinn, and saying, We want Gyan, We will pay you 6mill loan fee, and Quinn going yeah ok, Gyan on the next flight out without having spoke to Bruce about it. (and ifit did happen Bruce shoud cause a right stink with the Club not Gyan) But then I cant see how Gyan could do the dirty, its up to the club wether to release him or not, Al Ain couldnt just go to Gyan and say we want you, here is a plane ticket, by the time you are half way here, they cant do anything to stop it. So that leaves Bruce is lieing
Had Bruce been more of a diplomat this wouldn't have happened and nor would Gyan be a worthless asset for us. Gyan will milk that for all it's worth ensuring his transfer fee goes down and his signing fee goes up/
If he's the type of player that shows no respect for a club that gave him an opportunity to play in the best league in the world, you're better off without him. 200k though.. Christ..
I believe the real reason Gyan has not phoned Bruce, is the mobile roaming costs are too prohibative.
I suspect it's a bit premature to be talking about his transfer fee. According to the club statement on SAFC.com, Al-Ain came early in the week and wanted to buy Gyan outright. Sunderland turned them down flat. So no one at SoL is thinking in terms of selling Gyan. However, the player had told the Ghanaian press in March that the club seemed "a bit disorganised" and that he wasn't very happy here. So we found ourselves in a situation where we've got a class player who doesn't want to be here - and Al-Ain come back with £6 million for a one-year loan. We get half our £13 million costs back, and next summer he's still our player - good for the club, I'd say. Gyan gets the chance to make a million quid every five weeks for a year and can still return to the EPL next summer - good for Gyan, I'd say. It works all round doesn't it? Since then, Bruce has said it would be difficult for Gyan to come back. But does anyone really think Bruce is going to be here next summer to make that decision? The position as I see it is that we get a manager who organises things better, and we get a happier and richer Gyan playing alongside Bendtner. Anyone not want to see that?
Sorry i just cant, you would be happy that our top striker left to get rich while we were left short and struggling for a year???? And will he be returning to a premiership team because im worried, really worried about what im seeing!
But we agreed to it. We had the chance to sell and easily recoup the whole £13 million but we didn't want that. Gyan hasn't shafted anyone - the club says so. Your other point about will we still be in the EPL is best left to prayer. J-e-r-s-e-y - we need your help here mate!
