    Hard life being a football manager following on from a well paid career as a footballer, isn't it? He is 51. Would you look for another job or relax in the South Of France? I know which I would do but I am a lazy, unambitious sod.

    Not when the only important thing to the owners is the Champions League, Though some clubs have sacked managers who won the Champions League (and European Cup, as Villa did with Tony Barton).

    Interesting to see who'll they'll go for, they'll want a big name and nearly - all? - are tied to clubs at the moment. I suspect it'll be Deschamps.

    Any thoughts on why they should sack someone who was won the league 3 times running and replace him with someone who guided their club to 7th place last season and 5th the one before?

    Winning thee league three times running isn't that big an achievement when your budget is as big as the rest of the league put together, presumably they think Emery can also do the business outside of the domestic league.

    FFP seems to worked well in Platini's own country.Didn't he allow certain dispensations when it became obvious the effect on PSG?

    They certainly got a let-off. From memory, I think they got a €60m fine for breaching FFP, but with €40m suspended as long as they met certain criteria.
