Slightly off topic but still sport related.

Have you seen that Oscar Pistorius has killed his girlfriend, shooting her 4 times?

I've been listening to and reading comments and I can't believe the outpouring of sympathy for HIM??? He's claimed that he miss-took her for an intruder so shot her FOUR TIMES??? South African journalists are saying that "if anyone can get over this, it's him". "It just goes to show the world what sort of country South Africa has become".................errm no, he has a history of domestic violence, she was with him throughout the evening and then she apparently surprised him so he shot her FOUR TIMES.

Even if she sneaked into the house (pretty impossible I'd say given the amount of security needed), surely she would know that he keeps a gun a by his bed and might be a bit jumpy at 4am??

I think this is going to end up as a South African OJ case...........and will end the same way!!!

Yep, certainly shades of OJ. If ever a verdict was bought, that was it.

As he didn’t use his machine gun (yes, he had one). I reckon he'll get off charge. Paralympic/Olympic national hero, Boer, White, no legs = No chance he'll go to jail.

Apparently the police had been called to the property before and they'd had a turbulent relationship. Perhaps the latest argument started when he yet again stumbled home legless in the early hours?

All he needs is a black jury and he will be found innocent if OJ is anything to go by.

not sure where the racial motivations are on this one? To me seems one of two things - eiether a tragic accident so then guilty of manslaughter, 4 shots is excessive or as stated murder in the 1st degree.

Sounds like murder, but not in the first degree. No evidence of premeditation so far. More likely to be a drunken fight that got out of control. He's known to have a temper apparently. Nearest thing to this recently was Phil Spector in the US.

Could it be argued that as she left the property and then returned, to be shot, that he had time to preplan and think about his potential actions?

I assume he was black because it was in SA. Shows you how much attention I pay to the para olympics.

I can't imagine that Pistorius is the first man to wake up legless on Valentines day and shoot all over his wife's face while imagining she was someone else.

He performed in the actual 2012 London Olympics? Surprised you missed that since there was lots of publicity surrounding the story?

It's a real shame really. He had the whole world at his knees. I suppose it gives a whole new meaning to 'taking the missus out' on valentines day though.

There was something quite disturbing about watching some of the competitors in the Paralympics.

Don't get me wrong they had my admiration but some of it was a bit disturbing, mind you the football teams would have given us a run for our money.
