Nyron Nosworthy returned to the Academy of Light on Tuesday for Blackpoolâs friendly win over Sunderlandâs U21s. The 34-year-old signed for the Championship club earlier this month and he continued his road to full fitness as the Tangerines came from 2-0 down to seal an impressive 3-2 win. Speaking to safc.com, the defender revealed his delight after catching up with a number of familiar faces. âI was hoping to come here and play at the Stadium of Light but nevertheless I have returned to a place full of good memories. âIt was great to come back and catch up with so many familiar faces; it is an absolute pleasure and when I first arrived everyone was very welcoming, so I am happy I left a good impression because I had a very good time here.â He continued: âI have enjoyed my time at Blackpool so far and it is just a matter of playing games to build my fitness. âI just want to enjoy my football because it is short career and you have to make the most of it, so when Blackpool gave me the chance to do that I took it with both hands.â And despite securing a win over his former club in Tuesdayâs game, Nosworthy was impressed by what he saw from the young Black Cats. âThe U21s are a decent group and they have some good lads who are obviously trying to push into the first team. âThey conducted themselves properly so hopefully they can follow in footsteps of many players before them and come through, because if they do they will definitely be loved.â ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Why was there no marketing for this?!
