Can't see many games being played tomorrow to protect the travelling supporters, Most grounds can cope with severe weather now but the highway people aren't quite up to the task methinks
If the ground and surrounding areas are okay then no reason to postpone. If we can't travel from south Wales that is our problem. The lack of away fans will not be an issue. Mind you someone said their ground pooled very poor in their mid week cup tie.
Been snowing heavily in cheshire this morning and we had a bit last night. More to come this afternoon though the forecast is that it doesn't get much north of Warrington. Talking to some work colleagues in Preston this morning and they say it's clear there. The M5 and M6 have some lane closures for those travelling by car and coach, but the trains should be OK.
This from Blackpool Gazette Published on Friday 18 January 2013 08:34 DESPITE the wintry weather, Blackpool say they have no concerns about tomorrow’s game going ahead, (kick-off 5.20pm) . Although sub-zero temperatures are forecast, the Bloomfield Road pitch was playable this morning and no pitch inspection is planned. However, Championship leaders Cardiff’s plans could be hampered by the snow, which has put their planned flight in doubt. Manager Malky Mackay said: “We’re supposed to fly up on Friday, but that can only be determined after we know the conditions here in the morning. If it’s not to be a flight, then we’ll drive up to Blackpool. “Nick Alford, our club secretary, is in regular contact with Matt Williams in Blackpool and as soon as there’s any information of note it’s being relayed between both clubs.”
Apparantly the team flew up yesterday, and the travelling fans must be having a whale of a time. Just noticed some of my sky channels not working including sky sports 2, oh well out with the ladder and the mop to clean the sky dish, or should i go down the pub instead .....mmmmmm
