Next up, we host Blackpool. Just looking into this, I really had no idea Blackpool were on such an absolutely HORRENDOUS run. 11 defeats in their last 14, with 3 draws, and therefore without a win in 15...... I don't know why, but I have a horrible feeling we'll lose tomorrow. That said, SURELY we have a good chance to beat Blackpool, with Tom Ince leaving in January also. 2-0 Ipswich therefore. We might be the value bet of the weekend in all honesty, 8/11 home to a Blackpool side in that kind of form. What the hell is going on at Bloomfield Road!? Attendance - 16400 - Can't see many making the long journey from Blackpool with the weather conditions/ long drive ahead!
Now look here Westy! If you do insist on starting these match day threads then you must stick to the heading "IPSWICH TOWN Vs Blackpool - Predict A Score" Ok? Only kidding Ipswich 3 - 0 Blackpool Smithy Murphy Goldy
I think this will be a trouncing, and for once i'm predicted an Ipswich win.# Blackpool are awful, and without Ince are a poor side. I'd be disappointed if we didn't manage to get 3 - i'll predict a 5-1 win, with a hat-trick for McG, and and Tabb and Anderson with the other two.
Can't see there being that many in sadly San Diego, it's going to take a lot of effort to get people back!
Westy You said Blackpoo have lost 11 and drawn 3, so are without a win in 15. Now i am not very good at maths but...... This is one i would normally say we would lose, as quite often when teams are on a bad run and meet us, their fortunes change. I am going for a........................ wait for it...................... . . . . . . .4-0 win with a crowd of about 15,500
This is by far the best article on TWTD every week! Well worth a read. http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/24622/the-calm-following-the-storm--notes-for-blackpool
Good to hear Chops has turned over a new leaf! Seriously if we really are to mount a promotion push we need to be putting sides like this to bed very easily.
Haha. I don't know why, I have a bad feeling about this game. Apparently they were much improved home to Nottingham Forrest, but surely this should be routine 2-0 job done? I absolutely hate playing sides on such a piss poor run. They cannot lose every game. Remember how Millwall and Leeds turned out with both of them on horrific runs too? 1 point out of 6. Granted, they were both away and this is a home game but still.
If this weather carries on, I can see it being called off. I mean, it's not like we live in Somerset, but it's very wet and the wind is vicious. Not conducive to our 'punt it high upfield' style of play at all.
Us away in horrible conditions under Mick McCarthy = the last place most teams would want to travel a 400 mile round trip
1-0 to us in sh!tty weather. (If you are offended by truly appalling Harry Potter-related puns, look away now) I see Dobbie is playing. I heard he's had elf problems lately.
