Blackburn v Swansea Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Ewood Park Date - 28 October 2023 Kick off - 3:00pm Following their second consecutive home Championship defeat, next up for Michael Duff’s Swansea squad is a tricky looking trip to Lancashire to face Blackburn Rovers. On Tuesday evening, Ken Sema struck his first goal of the season in spectacular fashion to earn Watford a 1-0 win over the Swans. Harry Darling and Matt Grimes went the closest to scoring for the hosts in the first half while Vakoun Bayo should have netted for the Hornets in what was a tight affair. Kristian Pedersen thought he had put the Swans ahead after 72 minutes when he headed Grimes' corner beyond Daniel Bachmann, but the effort was ruled out for an infringement that Michael Duff questioned in his post-match interviews. However, visiting substitute Sema's pile driver in the 82nd minute ensured that Watford left south Wales with all three points. Whilst the Swans were losing to the Hornets, Callum Brittain's excellent goal ensured a third successive Championship victory for Blackburn Rovers as they came from a goal behind to win 2-1 at managerless Millwall. Wes Harding's opener was a gift as the Millwall defender's weak close-range header somehow slipped through the hands of Leopold Wahlstedt and into the net after just two-and-a-half minutes. Rovers equalised with a similar gift as Bartosz Bialkowski somehow let Joe Rankin-Costello's shot squirm under his right arm. But Brittain's curling strike early in the second half sealed the win as Millwall tried in vain to get an equaliser. The victory moves Rovers up to 11th place - one point off the play-off places - while Millwall drop to 16th. Meantime, the Swans dropped to 19th in the table, 6 points clear of the relegation places. The Swans have played Blackburn 49 times, winning 16, losing 25 and drawing 8. In the corresponding fixture last season the Swans lost 0-1 courtesy of an Ayala winner in the 89th minute: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oYT0wbr88wM To demonstrate the challenge facing the Swans on Saturday, it is 52 years since they last beat Blackburn in Blackburn Personally, I cannot see the current Swans side ending that depressing run and I think that Blackburn will win 3-1. Hope I’m wrong
The result is almost inevitable. If the players aren't happy with Duff then it's bedlam on the pitch as far as tactics go. Professional players should at least give 100% whatever but this seems unlikely also. 3 - 0 Rovers.

https://www.vivafoot.xyz/p/blackburn-swansea-city-championship.html Darling with the suicidal defending at the end of that half. I'm really not too impressed with him.
