I've seen some one sided games in my time, but that was right up there. How on Earth we didn't win that game, let alone lose it, is beyond me. Paul Robinson and the Ref have won this game for Blackburn. How was Vardy's goal disallowed? Shocking decision, the standard of referees in this league is beyond ****. Every ****ing week. Every damn week.
Never mind AKCJ - it's still early in the season and we have dominated every game we have played so far. The results will start reflecting that soon. Great confidence booster for Vardy getting that first goal (and, yes, it should have been 2 but Vardy knows and being denied by a poor decision won't affect the confidence effect.)
You are judged on results.. fact, the "we were unlucky" line is becoming a broken record.. teams make their own luck.. nigel should of made sure the defence was right before the season kicked off..two self inflicted goals today...konch gave the ball away...and a sucker punch second...poor defending on the break...we still keep conceding soft goals after dominating ...thats not good enough...
The biggest possitive is we played excellently. The biggest negative is that we missed many chances. We have Blackpool next, we have a good record against them under Hollowhead. I think we've beat them 5 times and drawn once.
Dissapointing i know guys, but its a very hard league, i'm gonna stick my neck out and say, were mid table at best
I just dont think we are strong enough in the middle of the park. We are too easily over run in the middle
Encouraging performance and we'll play a lot worse than that and win games this season. However, it is becoming too often an occurrence that we dominate games but lose concentration at the back and/or don't take chances. The officials as well were an absolute disgrace: the Vardy header; their 1st goal should have been offside; Murphy should have been sent off for a 2nd yellow when he fouled Vardy (then he wouldn't have been on the pitch to clear it off the line). I do refuse to get too down though because, as I said, that was an excellent display and at least Nigel has sorted out the midfield from last season as we totally bossed it today. If we replicate that kind of performance on a more consistent basis, we will be up there fighting.
They looked very average...and we still lost to two soft goals...same old, same old... .every bad result means the pressure mounts....and confidence dissipates..
Away form is peanuts in this league, its all about a home fortress. plus nige teams always peak at the end. We have 2 class CBs to come back. Im very happy.
^ No. Im helped emotionally by not listening or seeing the game. All i know is that we played well and lost to a very good team away from home. If we start losing at home there is trouble. But from what i have seen so far it looks good. PLaying our 4th choice CB and scored in every game.
Really? I thought the midfield was the best part of our game today. Drinkwater controlled the tempo of the game and King did an excellent box-to-box job. Vardy also dropped off well to handle Murphy. It's just a bit more competence in both boxes that we need.
After the pool thumped the tractor boys you'd think playing Ipswich next would be just what we needed, however city being city it's probably best to play pool and end their 100% start ( I hope) then face a tractor back lash. Ed, I salute your optimism, I hope your right mate
Im not talking about today. Im talking about over the course of the season I dont think we will be strong enough in that area. One good thing about today was Andy King looks like his old self again
