When asked, I am always black and white.
Trouble is that I do not follow RL at all even though I am linked with an RL club!!!

Ask my mam to name a rugby player and she couldn't, ask her if she is black and white and she would say yes she is.

It's a Hull thing, RL is part of our city, but in a sort of odd way. Down here it counts for nowt. But football is everything.

And yes the truth is that I am actually linked to a RL club down here. Sponsored in part by ... Rovers... Official photographer, whatever next!

I reply with, since when did a roulette table have a white? Since my i'd rather lay in a bed of nails than even be associated with rugby league

Whether it's Rovers or FC playing,i hope they win. When they play each other,i don't care who wins. I'm not going to slate rugger,i'm just indifferent toward it.

I can't say it's something I get asked very often. Reading the subject heading made me think of a sunburned penguin more than anything else.

I reckon I'd just stare blankly at them and wonder what on earth they meant.

As for naming rugby players. Imagine a quiz at work or in a local pub. People are given 20 seconds each sport to name as many players as possible. For arguments sake we'll say, Tennis, Snooker, Rugby League and football. I'm guessing that in by far the majority of cases, the RL list will be much shorter than the others. Rugby Town?

Obviously it won't be a surprise to anyone that I'm black and white.

It's a good question though, I would say most people in Hull associate themselves with Hull or Rovers, whether they've ever been to a game or could name a player or not.

I have always replied "I have no idea what you are talking about."

Is it some kind of ethnicity question regarding African or Native American origin?

Is that true? So what about his quotes last week "That I have literally given my life to Hull FC"?

Not me. I can honestly say I hate them both equally, although Rovers fans do seem to be less ****ish (this isn't a reaction to the last week btw).

i was brought up on Boulevard , had training sessions at school with some players , some of my friends and workmates have played for Hull and Rovers , me oldest played for West Hull , but ive no interest in the sport anymore.
I considered myself as Black n White as a kid , but once i left junior school i totally dropped any interest in rugby and thinking about it theres only a few people im close to who have more than a passing interest in the sport .

Amongst all the people i know there is more of a buzz about the Ice Hockey than the rugby - and im not joking about that either !!

Born De La Pole Ave, went to the Boulevard as a kid but no longer say I'm black and white. When FC merged with Gateshead the club ceased to exist as far as I'm concerned.

Rovers are the true rugby league club in Hull now.

Red. First rugby match I was taken to Rovers beat FC 35-4 so much to the dismay of family I chose the winners. I follow the results of both clubs but haven't been to a game in 20 years or more.

I don't support either really but will always cheer on any Hull club. I was brought up in North Hull so never regarded ourselves as east or west but my leaning is for FC mainly due to Rovers having that ambulance chaser as chairman, the bloke is a parasite!

I used to go watch Speedway at the Boulevard in the 70s so I started to watch FC as well and have done ever since, If I still lived in Hull I would go to most matches both City and FC .....

I Just love sport really and both teams have had my loyalty both home and away, When I lived in Cambridge used to drive the 350 miles to home games for both clubs and went to many many away games would never apologise for getting kicks out of watching both Football and Rugby League.

UTT ..... Come on you ULL

    <cheers>

I used to be Black and White but after spending a few days lurking on the Hull FC forum over the JW saga, I really do not want anything to do with them. The ringleaders who "rallied" the troops, got Hull councillors involved and the hatred they have shown to the Allams is beyond belief. And acheived nothing but opened a big can of worms.

Any sympathy they may have attracted by the public would soon turn negative if they read the posts on their board. They have done nothing to help their cause and possibly damaged the image of Hull FC. They are in danger of alienating themselves and their beloved club by their blinkered outlook and bigoted veiws.

That proves you were never a hull fc fan in the first place. as for Hull KR, mybe you should look back in their history and see who they merged with.

I dont give a monkeys about Rovers or FC.

Feel a bit sorry for Johnny Whitely, in all this picture crap.
We used to use his gym at Eureka club when I was playing sunday league footy in the early 90's.
