Geez I've been a little afraid to enter into this debate, but I have to say that I was more than a little stunned by the manner in which she won. As has been pointed out by Dan, Ron, and quite of few others, she had a lot to contend with, but it has to be admitted that on face value, she's not lived up to the hype. I run the risk of being looked upon as biased, if I offer up the opinion that her performance wasn't up to her usual standard. I can't know whether she was injured or just flat, I can only go on what I've seen her do in the past. Her trainer was adamant that he had her at her peak going into the race, but an animal is an animal, one can never be sure that expectations can be fulfilled. He expected better that what he got, a lot of people did. On a daily basis, trainers sent horses to the course believing they will get a good run from a horse, only to return home empty handed, it happens to the very best of trainers. That she won was a blessing, at least for me. Oh, and on a personal note, I love Frankel.
And with that, bed.
P.S. Thanks for the kind words above Dan.
