BLACK CAVIAR (Peter Moody/Luke Nolen) took her unbeaten run to 25 and recorded her 15th top-flight success when she strolled home in the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.more...
What an amazing horse she is, fair play to connections for keeping her going for so long. Well probably never see a streak like hers again, and she's not finished yet by all accounts
Sydneysiders made a lot of noise this week, saying how they were really going to test the mare. After slightly missing the kick from the inside gate, she was hunted up to sit just off the leader. As Hay List pressured her near the bend, She was ridden for a few strides to keep her nice spot. On straightening, the leader kicked strongly, and for a second, people held their breath. They didn't have to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ills6b5a8F8
The other highlight of the day was undoubtedly It's a Dundeel, the Kiwi champion who's swept all before him this season in Sydney. In running, he's towards the rear in the Blue, Yellow and White. An amazing win. http://www.racingnetwork.com.au/dav...ate/2013-04-13/race/7/trackid/53/default.aspx
Wow he was SUPER impressive Cyc - that lands him the triple crown doesn't it? Thanks for posting mate, hope you are well
Hi Cyc. Glad to see you are fine. Nice to hear from you and thanks for the link; brought tears to my eyes.............. again.
Apparently Peter Moody has said he'd rather she comes over for the 2014 Royal Ascot, but as the trainer I'm sure he would rather hang on to her for another year.
Thank you Ron for the kind words mate. I've re-run the Derby a few times now, and am still amazed with the effort of It's a Dundeel. Now he's one I'd like to see in the UK, not that I've heard anything of a trip. (Now back to semi retirement.)
What are the chances that Coolmore buy It's A Dundeel? Considering that another NZ bred (So You Think) put High Chapparal on the map as a stallion?
