I could have gone to media articles for this but I don't trust the shower of ****e. I'm writing my preview for our match, what I need is quick mini guide to where you've strengthened. Just enough info to fill a paragraph. But I want who's going to improve you, how they're expected to improve you and where you still need to strengthen. Thank you kindly in advance for anybody who can help.
They have signed Okazaki up front mate, hasn't improved the quality but he has completed the forward line up for them so they have strength in depth, in that department. Defence is where this team has really strengthened with the permanent signings of Huth, Fuchs and Benalouane. I would imagine all 3 of these will be regular first team players. Leicester have also signed Kante in the centre of midfield, certainly an improvement for them but they still need another centre midfielder on top of this. I don't believe Kante to be at the same level of Cattermole and certainly not M'Villa, I would stick my neck out and say this is the weakest part of Leicesters squad, which really needs to be improved on, IMO. I would imagine Leicester to be dangerous on the break as they have quick attacking full backs so we will need to watch them, as well as with Mahrez who definitely has a bit of class. Hope this helps mate
would Kante be Camb's replacement? or is that an area that still leaves them vulnerable? Could any balanced Leicester fan second these sentiments?
Even with Cambassion last season, Leicester were still one short of a quality player in midfield. Apart from Kante, I think their other midfielders are King and Drinkwater. Neither are good enough to be playing first team premiership football, in my eyes. I think unless Leicester bulk up in midfield, they could be in real trouble. Definitely the weakest spot of the team fella.
Funky could really do with a bit of input from a Leicester perspective The match day thread he is talking about will be available on our board and we always welcome away fans for discussion and banter before everyone of our home games
We're not seeing Kante as a Cambiasso replacement, as he's a very different player. We would have loved him to play alongside Cambiasso, but we're still in for Inler, as far as I'm aware, who would act as that experience with some passing ability. From what I know about Kante is that he works hard, so fits in well with the side, but doesn't possess the distribution and leadership abilities of Cambiasso.
Cheers fella, Can you see all your new signing playing a part or are some not quite there yet? Also, any injuries or 50/50? Also if you like you're welcome to message me your view on the match and I'll use it provided it's well balanced and Leicester focused. This Preview isn't just for this site, it's also for a NewsNow affiliated Sunderland fanzine, which will be read by thousands across the net. You'll be named(real name pref) and thanked in the article. Or not if anyone else fancies it just in box me. I aim to publish tonight, if any input is to be in boxed to me, could it be done for 6pm please. As safc83 has said you'll all be welcome to pop by the match thread.
CM is the weakest and the 1 place i expect us to strengthen before Sept. Plenty of options up top and a few new options at the back.
You've pretty much summed things up well, as others have said - in terms of Cambiasso's replacement, we are still looking, and the latest speculation is that we are about to make a hostile bid (they don't want to sell) for Selcuk Inan the Galatasaray captain, in that regard ... you're perhaps a little harsh on Andy King - a home grown talent who is still young and developing and has a canny knack of notching important goials (e.g last minute winner against West Ham that sparked off our winning run) - he is a regular starter in the Wales midfield alongside Aaron Ramsey and they have just been ranked ninth in the world - would be surprised if we would be dismissing many other regulars in the world's top ten teams as 'not being good enough for the prem' ...
Bit early to say Okazaki hasn't strengthened our attack. His signing hasn't added to our attacking depth either, as Chris Wood has gone. Again, not sure how you can assess a player as not being "at the same level of Cattermole" () when he's not played in the Premier League before. We also have Matty James in the centre of the park who did well last season, although he will be out for some time. I expect that there will be another midfield arrival, possibly on loan. We've definitely added numbers at the back, but again, as they're all imports, it remains to be seen how they'll cope in the Prem, but at the very least we'll have the same defense that did so well in the last nine games or so.
? What is your highlighting of Lesta Gangsta's text supposed to mean? IMO we have improved our attack - Okazaki top scored for Mainz in the German top league for the last two seasons and we got rid of someone we sent out on loan to Ipswich and failed to score any goals.
H I was shattered last night and just wanted sleep at that time. He suggested, that I had said Okazaki hadn't strengthened your attack. I never said that at all, I said he hasn't improved the quality as I don't believe he's already better than what you have. He might be the same level, but not better. His signing has give you strength in depth. (Wood out, Okazaki in, has strengthened your attack, IMO)
You're kind of making the same point I did, but disagreeing over semantics! He HAS improve our quality up front, as he's better than Wood. He HASN'T given us more depth, because we have the same number of strikers.
A lot of egg on the Sunderlands fans face. King and Drinkwater **** all over their midfield Lee Cattermole proves yet again what a talentless waste of space he is
I was going to say... If they couldn't even overrun a midfield of Drinkwater and King, they've got no chance
