Went up to the game today and don't really have anything to say on the match!!! what i do feel though is, embarrassed, angry, ashamed plus many more emotions, due to Mark Hughes reign at our club! That man has single handedly set us back a few seasons with his pathetic attempt at managing! Players who were rightly questionable by a few on here have proven to be pure money grabbing mercenaries! I firmly believe in Harry to sort the mess left behind and think he is being very frank and honest about the situation. He and we need players with the desire to win and win for themselves, the fans, the club etc and not overpaid has beens. a few questioned Hughes transfer policy and were totally correct, i wasn't one of them, i just questioned his managerial abilities. What you will see harry do, is on the next level from what warnock wanted to do. Hughes took us backwards and TF was too late to see it happen.
Bloody awful weather, Bob. The pitch looked a bit waterlogged in the first half, ball sticking too much and we lost a lot of possession because of it. Neither side could really adjust but they had the benefit of being at home. Still, too many of our players pranced around like a bunch of prima donnas who didn't want to get dirty. I mean most of them have hardly ever played in typically British conditions like this their whole lives, coming from warm, dry weather countries oh I'm sorry your hair got messed up
Hats off to you Bob for making the trip. An awful long way for that tripe. What's most annoying is that a first away win since Joan Collins wore gym slips would've put the Rs within sniffing distance of the Saints and Wigan, and with a 4-pt buffer on Reading. Suddenly we'd have been breathing right down their necks with 17th or above within grasp. On the other hand, nothing has changed position and points gap-wise. But what an opportunity lost with two home games to come.
I felt sorry for your fans today, I know how it feels to have over-paid mercenaries! Im sure you's will stay up with Harry there, I agree about Hughes though, is it true he didnt even go to training sessions?
Fair play to those who went up there today. I watched the game on the internet and my god was is awful.
sky sports in nz show the game and then at the end show highlights at the end today they didnt show anything from the first half it truly was appalling to watch today and i was able to sit on a soft couch with endless coffee well done to anyone who paid to watch that ****
Recently got back from the match today - bit of a disappointing trip altogether really! The performance had the stench of relegation about it, though at half-time I was expecting us to make a bit of a go of it in the second half. Obviously HR's hands are tied in terms of selection etc, but don't think I ever want to see Cisse start a game again - he's just not interested really. He also seems to score most of his goals in the second half, so might be more worthwhile using him as a sub. I do, however, have one slight criticism of HR today, namely the shape or positioning of the team in the second half following the substitutions. Perhaps this has been mentioned on another thread, but why was SWP in the middle with Adel isolated out wide. He only moved into the middle when the damage had already been done. Plus, Hoilett was deployed on the right, when he normally plays from the left. Before any one jumps on me for being mean to HR, these are merely observations!!
Think you'll find most clubs have a certain core of fans that will follow their team blindly. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season.
My internet connection refused to connect , and the TV refused to turn on, I assume it was a value judgment, from your comments this morning...well done my electrical equipment. (or maybe it was a powercut)
I'd like to call it dedication and commitment! A long journey yesterday to watch a dire match (not of course that I'd be saying that if the result had gone the other way!), and to cap it all I now have a horrible cold / sore throat! We need to move on now and focus on the next few games, though having seen similar performances this season in my heart of hearts I'm already steeling myself for a return to the very familiar grounds of Ipswich, Palace, Leeds....
Looking on the bright side of life: Soton have Foolham and Stoke away next; Wigan have Everton and Villa away; and we have two winnable home games. Could be above the drop-zone by 2013?
Or the downside: WBA and LFC are now regaining form and have little to fear from side who struggle to break sides down. But let's hope you're right.
Didn't expect any thing from this game but wanted to see continued performance improvement but dire. 4 pts from the next 2 and things will look slightly better, I hope. Kudos to the people that went up I can't imagine there was any fun to be had.
I heard you and QPR at the game Bob, Cheers! Like your comment about Harry and Colin. I see Harry as pretty similar to Colin with more top flight experience, think and hope he will take us further if he sticks around.
