    But the old boy they’re talking about here served in the DLI during WW2 so there may be a chance that he came from the NE and has family that he doesn’t know about. That said, if there are any representatives from a DLI association on here, or if anyone knows anyone, let them know so they could pay their respects in some way.

    I'm sure the DLI will be on the case and, thanks to posts like yours, word will spread.

    My Dad, and other relatives, we're DLI so I'll be thinking about the fella, RIP mate.

    Cheers Smug. I suppose the old soldier in me feels for him. He gave a lot and to have died alone is a crying shame.
