They've not gone into admin but calling in Receivers could be regarded as tantamount to the same thing regarding penalties. The way it's going though, even with a 10 point penalty, I'd back them to finish above us unless we can use this to our advantage. I reckon we should make their Receivers an offer for their manager......
I went straight to the table when I saw the news and made the same assumption. Even if they have 10 points knocked off they'll still exceed our end of season total unless Slade is sacked.
While possibly good for us (maybe, with good luck and a following wind and a Slade exit) what an absolute kick in the teeth for the Brummie fans who have stuck with their club through the Carson Yeung era and now have a good, young manager and promising team only potentially to be side swiped by this. I hope they don't get a points deduction despite the possible benefits for us.
However much of a joke we've become in the last couple of years through the red, transfers and total mismanagement being one of the worst 3 teams but surviving just because a better side have been docked points would be a new low imo.
It's the parent company (BIHL) that has gone bust so the Birmingham City element is unaffected at present according to Ernst and Young. However, at some point the club will have to demonstrate they can continue as a separate entity.
