I live abroad and arrange my trips back to Hull so that I can watch at least a couple of matches. I have arranged to come back in October to take in the matches against Birmingham and Watford. The Birmingham game has already been moved once although that did not effect my plans. I now find that the match has been cancelled because Birmingham are in some Mickey Mouse European tournament which apparently takes priority. It must have been known that this was a possibility when the fixtures were announced and could have been flagged up but wasn´t. This round of matches could have been played during a week that did not clash with European matches but wasn´t. Is anybody else in the same position having arranged and paid for flights and a hotel in advance. It is not a wasted journey because I have family in the area but it could have been arranged at another time when we have two matches for example there are two occasions coming up when we have an away game on a Tuesday in Yorkshire (Barnsley and Doncaster) but I prefer to give my money to Hull City rather than those clubs. I was accussed of being grumpy yesterday and they were probably right but news like this turns you into Victor Meldrew.

If they left free every potential game that might have to be moved for a cup game, or a cup replay, then they wouldn't be able to put together a fixture list at all. I realise it must be annoying, but there's always going to be games moved for cup games, the weather and tv, I don't see that there's really anything that can be done about it.

I realise that it is difficult but there are plenty of free weeks that don´t contain matches, like the week this match will be rearranged for. If when the fixture list was produced there was something flagged up against the weeks when Birmingham may be in Europe people such as myself and I know others arrange trips home when there are two games then it could have been avoided. They used to do that for later rounds of the FA Cup not sure they still do. If I was coming back for one game I would have arranged it a couple of weeks later when we played Barnsley away and WHU at home. I just hope that Leeds don´t get into the semi final of the West Riding Cup in March the next time we have two home matches in a week.
