I don't think we have any chance of getting Jordan Mutch. If Birmingham are in as much trouble as it seems then IMO one staple player for the first team would be a cheap youth player that has already proved himself at this level ie Mutch
Absolutly agree about that - but he's probably one of the cheap ones so will stay. Remember they have 4 years of parachute money and the club is run in this country. The only thing is that the owners accounts in his homeland are frozen - whilst that is big they will still have cashflow. Also, if it is proven, as alleged, that he has been corrupt then I would assume that he had ferreted away those funds to tax havens etc so small comfort to Birmingham City supporters but the club can survive for some years on the alleged illgotten gains.
More comfort to the blue noses is that its only the Mirror ! Nothing on SSN ! so with luck they should be ok!
Jon Marks first broke this story last night, it is true and Birmingham have problems ahead. Chris Hughton wont know what has hit him, but Jordan Mutch will be vital to their fortunes. Watford were unable to strike a deal for an extended loan last season, so what makes anyone think we could now?
Maybe Jordan might be getting a bit twitchyabout the happenings there and might see the need for putting in a transfer request! Long shot I know ,but he was quality!
You can now cheat by fielding an ineligible player for an entire season. Once upon a time the penalty for that was forfeiting every game. Now it's a £75k fine. Given that something directly relevant to the field of play gets such a small penalty, I shouldn't imagine that a tangental thing such as alleged intercontinental fraud would garner any punishment at all.
