Saw a copy of Southwark News and, lo and behold, on the sports page is an article about Marc Bircham who has signed for Fisher FC who currently play in the Kent League. He played as sub in a pre-season game and is going to make appearances for them throughout next season.

Amazing that he'll play at that level just for the love of it compared to some of our millionaire prima-donnas who can't be arsed...

Good luck to him. Thats what football is all about.

Wish we could have those types of players in our team again. The Birchams, Gallens, Furlongs, Ainsworths, Cooks. Not the best players, but they gave their all for the shirt.

Myself and Escape Goat played against Marc Bircham a few years back when he was playing for Leighton Town's Reserve team. Actually took us ages to realise it was actually him but again to echo what people have said it is extremely refreshing to see him play at any level just for his love of the game and for fitness.
