dover fc have accepted a bid from swine for birchall and expect it to be completed in the next few days! think the dover chairman is loving this along with their fans A BLESSING OR VERY BIG ERROR by our chairman?
would rather not have been held to ransom by a childish chairman from another club over a something as stupid as people wanting to better themselves. we mearly asked hendon if he'd like to come be our assisstant and he said yes, dont see whats wrong with that. just look at the rumors now if its true. lets be honest their chairman was never gonna sell him to us unless we were the only club bidding for him with a massive amount. yes he has been prolific outside of the football league but it has been atleast 2 divisions down from league football. to summarised i wouldnt have said no, but i wouldnt have let ourselves to be held to ransom just to get him. lets be honest for £250k (which they were asking for) we could get a more proven league striker
I think it's fair to say Dover didn't want to sell him to us, another striker still needed though so who??
I agree i wouldn't mind seeing byfield at gills he's a free agent so we would have allot of budget left
NO WAY would i want byfield back at gillingham...no way what so ever! to old, he does'nt have the commitment we need and when last here was more interested in the london limelight!!! NO NO NO!!!! would like lisbie though, have seen dean brill keeper is still available...worth a go!
Terms to be agreed with Birchall by Swindon. Just wonder if he could yet be persuaded to come to us. Just because Dover have agreed a fee,it doesn't mean he has to go there. If he really wanted to come to the Gills he could just hold out until we agree a fee.
I think working with someone like Di Canio is almost as much of a player magnet at this level as money. Parmenter isn't too pleased with us at the moment and I can imagine that Swindon aren't going to sniff at his goal record. What was it 64 in 74? Madness. In terms of out and out goalscorers I was hoping for either Birchall or McGleish and both have left for wiltshire. Bad times....Still chin up maybe we'll find a gem in our trialists.
Swindon fan ere, Though a fee has been agreed, it doesn't mean he is going to sign for us, terms are yet to be disscussed and Di Canio has ended interest in several players this summer after meeting them face to face. There are still hope for you guys to sign him yet, though i've noticed Dover chairman isn't your greatest fan.
a friendly swindon fan for once...and very true comments, which is how i see it(regards di canio)big- tackle! have seen on your swindon avertiser(sport) forum, that alot of negative comments have been thrown at gillingham from dover and swine, about not giving birchall to us and dover fodder coming to support the swine when they play at ours...sad idiotic prats they really are...GET OVER IT & MOVE ON!!!!!
It says on Gills connect that "Yesterday it was confirmed that a Gills target, Dover striker Adam Birchall, who Gills Chairman Paul Scally made a bid for (click here for information), has signed for League Two rivals Swindon Town for a fee reputed to be £75,000." If he only cost them 75k i hate to say but i maybe would have preffered him to kedders? Oh well we'll see..
