I do hope this isn't going to turn out to be another ' Simon King ' situation. Also, at this stage I would have liked the Club to have given the fans a more detailed prognosis.

Hessy not happy with Adam as he believes he has spoken out of turn on his Facebook/Twitter account without actually running it by the medical/coaching staff first. Can kind of see the gaffer's point on that one...

I think this brings about another one of those twitter, social network debates. Although I can fully understand any possible management annoyance at things said via such networks I have this take on it...

As fans the official site appears a bit tired and dated at times and does not really always answer all the questions fans are asking. We live in a decade of instant news, where it lives by the minute. The official site imo has had also season, even via its own twitter page to keep the fans updated on progress. Now I know you cannot report something if there is nothing to report. However, Adam Birchall obviously felt different (although I did not see the tweet myself).

Surely if supporters are following their favourite players, then there is nothing wrong in dropping the odd hint to the following faithful how HE actually feels about the situation. I think most of us had already accepted we will not see him until next season now, so no harm done as far as I am concerned.

If the player does not feel as though he ready, he will not play as though he is ready.

Even if the player does feel ready perhaps it is a better idea, given what happened to Simon, to keep him away from competitive football until pre-season. For the length of time he has been out of action for we cannot expect Adam will have much of a role to play this year. Who knows, maybe he'll come off the bench to score the winner at Wembley <wizard>
